I love a good set of online tools on a website, especially when it's coupled with another one of my favorite things: shopping. I'm especially loving the instant gratification of the design-your-own sneakers tools from some favorite brand-name shoe companies: Nike, Puma, Converse, and Keds all offer a customization option for a few of their classic sneaker designs.
Though the tools vary by site, essentially you can click on different sections of the shoe: interior, left side, right side, details, laces — and choose a color or print for each section.

White high tops with built in speakers and a CD-ROM, could it be true? These old school sexy sporty sneakers featured on Ubergizmo are concept shoes which feature an integrated CD-ROM, speakers, volume control knob and yes, velcro tops! They remind me of something Will Smith would wear on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

I couldn't resist posting these when I saw a feature on TechEBlog which displayed some outrageously geeky shoes. The first pair of sneakers come with a wireless music system which includes an MP3 player. You can store up to 100 songs and transfer them via the USB which is, get this, on the side of the shoe!

Ever see a kid jumping on the sidewalk with light-up sneakers and think, why can't I have fun accessories like that? Well, the wait for the flashiest shoes on the block is over. These "Sensitive Shoes" put that extra blingin' pep in your step, or as designer Steve McIntyre would put it: "The shoes offer an emotional 'bath of light' experience so that the act of walking is 'healing.'

I have just learned that if you want to be really chic while playing the Wii, you have to suit up in proper sporty, but totally cute clothes. City magazine has put together a fun mix of outfits for Wii tennis, baseball, golf, boxing and bowling and while I usually play my Wii in PJs or work clothes, I'm up for the fashion challenge.
I sent the photos to FabSugar, who challenged me to find the ultimate Wii sports outfit.

Two American MBA students are working on the creation of the "Stridekick," a small disposable device that attaches to a shoelace and determines the total amount of miles that have been logged on that particular pair of shoes.
The device also alerts the runner once certain mileage levels are passed, "allowing the individual to make a more informed and healthier decision about replacing the shoes," according to a press release.
Considering both the creators are male, I have a simple suggestion for the grantees: if you're worried if your tennis shoes are too old, ask a girl.
