A couple of weeks ago, I gave you a sneak preview of the LG Scoop, which recently made the switch from Sprint to Alltel Wireless. After seeing this close-up shot on
Electronista, I've decided that it's going to be a popular little handset. With a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel camera, bluetooth and Alltel’s Axcess Voice2TXT, this phone is going to get "scooped-up" fast (hee hee) with so many great features.

The hardest part about making these adorable 8-bit gourds is finding just the right pumpkins to carve! Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories the creators of this Pac-Man-carved creation, suggest finding a bagful of these decorative gourds at the grocery store — try to find one with a curvy base and a rounded one with a flat base.
And now that you've got the perfect pumpkins, here's how you should carve your pumpkins:
Gourds like these have a hard shell, about 3mm thick, that is rather hard to cut through.

Vintage geekery is something of an obsession here — as much as we tech-lovers love to have the latest gadget, we also pay respect to the originals. Many times I have been close to breaking down and buying a beautiful, brightly colored typewriter, even though I would only use my laptop for word processing.
I mourn the loss of Polaroids with as much intensity as I scrutinize the latest megapixel-packed digital camera.

I was all over my favorite faux URLs from movies a couple of weeks ago, but I have their king, courtesy of upcoming movie Julie and Julia. The film, which parallels the lives of famous chef Julia Child and her admirer years later, blogger Julie Powell, is based on a true story, but the technology isn't, necessarily.
Her blogging platform in the movie is a fakey called "Blogspot@salon.com", a seeming mash-up of Google's Blogger/Blogspot service and Salon, which did provide Powell's platform.

Yesterday Buzz got the scoop on the new Facebook movie, which is apparently a legitimate project being pursued. Honestly, when Aaron Sorkin joined Facebook last year, I definitely thought The West Wing creator's profile and rumors of the film were a hoax, but it appears everything is on the up and up. I was only mildly interested in the movie, rumored to be called The Social Network, before Buzz found out that David Fincher, of Zodiac and Fight Club, may be directing.

Our Apple tipsters haven't let us down before, so we know that this hot-off-the press news is likely fact and not fiction. Stay tuned, because next week (most likely Tuesday) Apple will be introducing new iMacs to their product line-up! The new and improved iMacs are said to be at the same price point as the current models and will probably receive a speed bump as well as a hard-drive increase.
