Gold LG Prada Phone, That's Right Gold Baby

The Prada phone by LG is one of the most desired designer phones of 2007, touting a sleek black casing, touchscreen, pre-loaded content, mobile phone accessories and an exclusive leather case for about $780 (yes, that's more than the iPhone). Apparently, all the glam wasn't enough for the people over at Amosu, who have dipped the Prada Phone in 24-karat gold. The phone is listed for £499 or about $989.70. It's less expensive than the $10,000 diamond and gold iPod shuffle, but still utterly ridiculous. Of course, the saying "you can't put a price on fashion" was born for a reason. Am I right?

Is The Prada Phone Worth It?

In a recent article Forbes writer Daniel Lyons points out that there is no logical reason to spend $780 on the Prada phone by LG. A point I wholeheartedly agree with, except for the phone is so darn pretty. The thing is, and Lyons does acknowledge this, there is common sense and then there's fashion sense.

The Prada phone is approximately $200 more than the upcoming iPhone, but does tout the designer label and "oh, it's Prada" factor. Of course, most people expect the iPhone to deliver in terms of its touchscreen technology and the iPod bonus. For those of you who are still aching for the phone despite its price, there may be a few road blocks. Prada was taking pre-orders in its boutiques in New York and Los Angeles this spring, but the phones are now all sold out in the U.S. On top of that, you will need a SIM card from a European or Asian cellular carrier for the phone to work in the U.S., as no local networks recognize the phone.

LG Electronics recently teamed up with the always chic Prada to develop "an innovative and iconic mobile phone" that has been the talk of the tech world for months. Finally, someone has gotten their hands on it and proven that yes, it does in fact exist. The UK's T3 gets up close and personal with the LG Prada Phone in this video and I was pleased to see the phone is just ask sleek as it was rumored to be. I was also pleased to see the photos of the phone that I worried were fake, were actually real!

LG previously collaborated with Roberto Cavalli to create an Ultra Slim UMTS Phone. The company claims the joint effort for the Prada phone focused on the key elements inside the phone, such as software, user interface and music as well as its look, for example design and packaging. Prada's New Phone Photos Leaked?

For the past few months, everyone has been talking about the new Prada cell phone, and while there has been much speculation as to what the phone will look like, no one really knew until this week...or at least we think this is what it will look like. Korea's Aving.net has posted a photo of what looks to be the new model.

You Can Never Be Too Thin: The LG Prada Phone

It's not unusual to see a designer smartphone with dumbed-down specs, but the latest entry to the designer gadget lineup seems to be packing both brains and looks. The Android-running Prada Phone by LG is a skinny one (naturally) at 8.5mm thick, and comes packed with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, a 1.0Ghz dual-core processor for speed, 8GB of onboard storage, and an 8MP rear-facing camera so you can snap crystal clear photos of your daily outfits.

The signature Saffiano pattern on the backside adds a touch of class to the phone, while a whole range of Prada-branded extras, including a docking station, Bluetooth headset, and headphones, keep you accessorized. Unfortunately, for those of us stateside, the Prada phone will only be available in the UK for now (at a shockingly low price - free on a two-year contract), but you can fuel your dreams with a better look at the phone in the video after the break.

Levi's Takes A Stab At Technology With Cell Line

Levi's is now following in the footsteps of other designers like Gucci and Prada by launching its first ever cell phone in Europe.

Electronista reports that the ModeLabs designed handset encompasses many signature Levi's traits like a rugged exterior. Made from strong steel, the Levi's mobile comes with a matching chain that can be attached to a belt loop like the one shown here (I am guessing you'll need to get a pair of Levi's to match).

Other features include media sharing capability, a camera and a MP3 player. It will be released in metallic silver, black and brown copper editions. They've also created "shiny silver" and "shiny sand" editions, featuring a mirror screen - presumably to target the female market. No pricing info available just yet, but expect to see a release by September. As for a U.S release, there's no news yet.

I think I am kind, thoughtful and thanks to my training as a writer, I do have the ability to listen and pay attention. GS: Describe your ideal date. Om: I have not been on one yet. If you have expectations, then you are going to be disappointed. If you are disappointed then even the best date can never be an ideal date. That said, I want a date of thousand surprises, little ones, that make every minute worth remembering. GS: What do you look for in a significant other?
