First Look at Doctor Who PlayStation 3 Game

Ready the controllers and clear some room in your personal TARDIS, the Doctor Who PlayStation 3 game is inching closer to a place on the retail floor. Below is the first look at Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock, slated for release in the first half of 2012.

As you'd expect, players travel through space and time as the Doctor and River Song, it's not so easy though - the actions of one era directly impacts play in another era. In addition to PS 3, the game will be available to PlayStation Vita and PC consoles.

Watch PlayStation's trailer for the video game that is very much a tease featuring the voices of Matt Smith and Alex Kingston (who plays River) after the break.

The family binging events are over, so now it's time to talk resolutions and fighting off some of that bulge you may have picked up during the holiday season. Good news is there are plenty of ways to burn some calories without spending half an afternoon in the gym. Fire up your favorite gaming console and pop in one of these titles that will have you working up a sweat in no time.

Your Shape Fitness Evolved ($34) - Working with the Xbox 360 and Kinect sensor, this game provides a personalized fitness program based on your skill level, but the Kinect actually senses where your joints are to give you proper form tips while you're playing. Add in special martial arts and weight loss classes led by actual celebrity trainers, and you have yourself a pretty amazing fitness game that really isn't a game at all.
The Fight: Lights Out ($20) - I like The Fight (which works in conjunction with the PlayStation Move), and in comparison to other fitness specific video games it doesn't feel like a workout; it just feels like fun.
Get Fit With Mel B ($) - Another PlayStation Move title, Get Fit With Mel B seems like it would be a good alternative to the gym; mostly cause Mel B is ripped, and if this helps her stay fit, it's gotta work for me, right?
Just Dance 2 ($34) - Like DDR before it, the Wii-compatible Just Dance 2 lets you work up a sweat with some awesome moves, and sing along to popular music. It doesn't get any better than that!
EA Sports Active 2 ($45) - I'm already a big fan of the EA Sports Active titles, so pairing it with the Kinect system is sure to give me an even better, more engaging workout experience.

Back-to-School Gaming Deals: Free Xbox With Laptop Purchase

Good news gaming fans: major tech players Sony and Microsoft are tempting you to buy their products this Fall by throwing gaming units in with the purchase of qualifying computers.

Students who are also Xbox 360 fans can select from a nicely priced ($700 or more) Windows 7 Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, or Toshiba laptop or desktop to qualify for a free Xbox 360 console. Better yet, you don't even have to leave the dorm as you can buy online with a valid .edu email address or buy at a Microsoft store with a student ID.

Gamers not currently in school also benefit from Sony's current deal; purchase a Sony VAIO F Series notebook with a Sony Playstation 3 console for a total of $950. Just remember to leave time for studying between games.

The Fight: Lights Out Delivers a Calorie-Burning Knockout

I was pretty excited when PlayStation announced the release of its new motion controller, the PlayStation Move, for the PS3. It's Sony's chance to compete against the fitness- and family-friendly Wii, without sacrificing its audience of hardcore gamers. Being an avid Wii player, I was excited to attend a preview party for The Fight: Lights Out ($37), Sony's fighting game that uses the PlayStation Move motion controller.

Going into the event I was a little intimidated: I was one of the few gals there, and on top of that, had never used the PlayStation Move motion controller. I was also meeting Danny Trejo, the actor I only know through some pretty scary roles. Danny is the voice of the trainer in the video game and is a total sweetheart IRL.

Sony Offering Free Scary Movies Every Saturday on Your PS3

You've got your Halloween costume on lock, your pumpkin all set to carve, so now all you have to do is sit back and wait for the big day to arrive. While you're waiting, may I suggest watching a few scary movies to get you in the mood for All Hallows' Eve? If you're a PS3 owner, this will be a super easy (and free) task for you to complete, especially now that Sony has set you up with free Fright Flicks every Saturday on the PlayStation Network.

Starting at 5 p.m. PST on Oct. 16 (that's tomorrow) and running through Oct. 30, you can creep yourself out by streaming three free flicks on your PS3. Find out which titles are coming up after the jump.

PlayStation Move: Right on Target

I'll be honest - when I first heard about the PlayStation Move system earlier this year, I thought Sony was just trying to play catch up with Nintendo's Wii. Boy, was I wrong. Sure, the PlayStation Move is similar to the Wii in the fact that there are two handheld controllers, but the Move takes a giant leap forward with the addition of the PlayStation Eye and its precise motion capture abilities. I finally got my hands on a Move of my own and had a chance to really put the system through the paces. How does the PlayStation Move rate? Find out in my rundown of the system after the break.
