I'm a super saver. Not only do I check out Retail Me Not before any big purchase, but I also have my eyes peeled for new coupon websites. Ebates, anyone? So naturally, I was stoked to find FatWallet, which can be added to your list of money-saving meccas online.

FatWallet can save you money not only by giving you access to thousands of coupons and codes, but it also has a cash-back program. Shop at a participating retailer (which shouldn't be hard since Bloomingdale's, Blue Nile, and eBay are on the list), and get a percentage of your purchase back every time you shop. Can't go wrong there, folks.

If you didn't know about this site until now, you'll be sorry it took you so long to hear about it! It's just that good. Toutie.com is like a coupon hoarders haven (and it's good for the budget-conscious, too). The site is devoted to discount codes for an innumerable number of smaller online boutiques, like ShopJake.com or TestimoBoutique.com, that carry the same good brands larger online stores stock. The checkout codes offered typically range from 10-40% off - good enough to lessen some of that buyer's remorse, right?

Website of the Day: Retail Me Not

You know when you're shopping online and you see a box on the checkout page that tells you to enter a discount code, coupon number or promotional code? You can actually obtain those money saving codes and digits from Retail Me Not, a website that lists online coupon codes for stores like J Crew, Amazon, Victoria Secret, Starbucks and Avis. The website gets all of its discount codes from user-submissions, so there's no guarantee that each code will work 100 percent, but it's definitely worth a try. Just enter at the checkout page and give them a whirl, you never know what goodies you'll get at a fraction of the regular cost!

Click "Create and Share!" on the left hand side
Choose "Blog"
Give your photo a Title
Leave the category as "general"
Change the channel to "technology and gadgets"
Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Website of the Day")
Click on the "Add Image" link below the "body" box
A popup window will happen - click on "Browse" to find your image on your computer
Once you have the image chosen, click "Submit"
The popup will show you your image, choose size: "normal" - if you want, you can give it a title (which will show up as a caption)
Click "Insert" and the popup will go away
Your "body" box will now have some text in it. Leave it as is. If you want to add some text before the picture telling me why you love the website, do it before the code that has appeared.
Click Submit

Hold the milk. In your coffee, that is. If you regularly stop at the coffee shop on your way to work, order it black to avoid any extra costs.
Go generic. At the grocery store, pick the generic variety of different foods to save big on pantry staples.
Keep the change. Sure, sometimes it's annoying to have change littering your purse or jangling in your pocket, but you'd be surprised by how quickly those nickels add up.
Swap soda for water. If you can't give it up altogether, vow to sip water instead of soda during at least one meal each day.
Trade CDs with a friend. Hoping to add the latest Rihanna song to your workout playlist? Reach out to a friend and burn CDs for each other to gather new music for free.
Fuel up for less. Unless it's required for your specific car model, nix the premium gas habit and use gasbuddy.com to find the cheapest gas in the area.

It's a new year and a new you! We're kicking off a short series detailing helpful tips to start off the year right, whether it be to advance your career or increase your financial cushion. Stay tuned for 12 ways to start afresh in 2012.

This year, resolve to drop your daily deal habit. Buying coupons can be extremely addictive, because sometimes the deals are just too tempting. But oftentimes, you'll end up doing something that you never planned on doing in the first place and trying restaurants that you had no intention of trying to begin with. The problem with buying deal after deal is, you might forget about them if you're not carefully keeping track of them, and you may end up losing money when the coupon expires.

Do yourself and your budget (not to mention your inbox!) a favor this year and unsubscribe from all the daily deals sites except your all-time favorite (PopSugar Shop, perhaps?). Also, make it a plan to use up all the daily deals you have yet to use this month as well. I know there may be deals that seem too good to miss out on such as the $10 for $20 worth of Amazon credit deal that LivingSocial had last year, so limit yourself to buying one or two online coupons this year. If you're worried about missing out on an amazing deal, I'm sure you'll catch a wind of it through friends or social media. And if you miss one, either scout for it on sites that sell unused daily deals like CoupRecoup or patiently wait for it to show up again.
