Nintendo Dresses Up Its DSi For Black Friday

Have you been holding off on buying a Nintendo DSi? Well, if your favorite color is orange or green, Black Friday may be the perfect time to indulge your gaming impulses.

Nintendo announced two new DSi colors yesterday in honor of the Black Friday shopping holiday, a Fall-themed orange and money-hued green, which will come bundled with a copy of Mario Party DS so you can partner up and play with your friends and family during the upcoming season.

Priced at $150, the new bundles will be in limited supply and will likely go fast. So get out there early, gaming fans!

Mario-Themed Red Wii Bundle Coming Nov. 7

Super Mario fans, get excited! Nintendo has announced that, similar to Europe and Japan, gamers in the US will be getting the red Mario-themed Wii and DS early next month. The red Wii and red DSi XL, released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original NES console, will hit stores on Nov. 7.

The $199 Wii bundle includes a red console and new Wii Remote Plus controller with Motion Plus add-on, plus Wii Sports, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and a red nunchuck controller. The new, red DSi XL will include Mario Kart DS and sell for $180.

Nintendo Is Up in Your Grocery Cart, Making Lists

I don't know if any of you remember back in the early 2000s when grocery carts had little computers on them, telling you where items were in the store? I don't know what happened to those, but they were super helpful. All you needed was a little digital shopping list and you'd be all set.

Apparently Nintendo thought the same thing since it recently filed a patent for a DS application that would not only keep track of your must-have items, but it would also wirelessly sync up with your grocery store and give you a birds-eye view of your location, and where to find the ingredients you need fast. It's like gaming, only, it's real life.

Gamers Rejoice: Plants vs. Zombies Coming to the DS!

As if getting your Plants vs. Zombies fix on your computer, iPad, and Xbox wasn't enough, a new report says that the zombie-fighting title from PopCap is headed to the Nintendo DS in January!

Like me, you guys are already big fans of the game and play it on your iPhone on a regular basis, so knowing that there will be one more way to battle it out with the undead makes me smile. Said to have a price tag of $20 and contain new and exclusive levels and content, it seems like a fair amount to shell out for an incredibly addicting, portable game that will get more play than my old Girl Talk board game ever could.

Packed full of all the sabotage, deception, and jealousy that you'd expect from the drama-filled show, The Bachelor video game delivers the virtual goods to your Wii and DS console and even offers up bonus mini games to fill your time between your one-on-one and group dates. I know you were expecting to dive into the dating scene next month, but according to the trailer, the release date has been pushed back to July. Prepare to test your own hot dog theory while you check out the trailer after the break.

Prince of Persia Featurette Shows Off a Few Main Elements

If you're excited for the Prince of Persia movie (and possibly winning a trip to LA to see it for yourself), then you must be just as stoked to play the next installment of the video game series, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Hitting the shelves on May 18, the prince is back for another adventure, but this time he's using the four elements - earth, fire, wind, water - along with time to battle his way through waves of enemies and huge bosses.

The game seems to lean heavily on perfectly timed jump sequences and use some of those Parkour skills - that newly coined action star Jake Gyllenhaal used in the film - to climb up walls and over obstacles, so it should get your heart racing, even though you're sitting still. Check out the two-minute featurette that introduces you to the game, and the team that made it, and tell me - are you picking up Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands next week?

Now that Polaroid is back in action - and with Lady Gaga at the creative helm - it isn't wasting any time branching out into new markets. According to a report, Polaroid will be creating a line of video game peripherals and accessories, like Wii sensor bars, docks for the Nintendo DS, wireless controllers, and microphone headsets, which will begin rolling out in the UK next month.
