Nov 6 2009 - 3:50am What do George Lucas and the new Droid have in common? More than you'd think! I'm stoked to get my hands on the new device being offered up by Motorola to see
if it really can top my iPhone, but when I got an invite to the San Francisco launch party I noticed something interesting at the bottom: the word "droid"
is licensed to Lucasfilm LTD, which means Motorola pays a fee to the
Star Wars icon to use his trademarked term.

omg..i've been looking at this phone and its gonna be a seller but now with the him saying he want it.. geeks will flock...lmao
1I really want this phone but am going to wait a few weeks to read some reviews on it.
2To say the the Sholes (AKA Droid and milestone) has better mutlitouch in the overseas version is not correct. The truth is the version you can buy today in the US supports it. The default browser on the US however does not. But this is just a software issue and don't be surprised if you see 3rd browser in the android store soon that supports the pinch zoom.
3This is why George Lucas has a billion dollars in the back
He owns A LOT!
4He owns the name? Ugh.
