Souvenirs Inspires Travel, Creativity in Photography

Flickr is a dreamland - but while you get to be exposed to a wide variety of photography, amateur and professional, it's overwhelming and sometimes difficult to find new streams that move you. That is, until you find something like photographer Michael Hughes's set of images, called souvenirs.

Hughes's cheeky photos consist of images where he holds the miniature version of a landmark up to the actual landmark that inspired it, like the Eiffel Tower or the Brandenburg Gate.

I'm not usually amped up to take a ton of photos of an iconic monument, but Hughes's work encourages me to see the "same old things" with different eyes - or lens, ahem. Check out the whole set and see if you don't get the same feeling!

Check Out the 2012 People's Choice Nominations Before the Show Airs Tonight!

The People's Choice Awards are tonight, so now's your chance to get a good look at who's up for the trophies. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is dominating the movie categories, especially since there was no Twilight film eligible for this year's awards (though Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson still earned nods because they appeared in other movies). Vampires are still big at the PCAs, at least for the TV categories - The Vampire Diaries and its stars are all over this list. On the subject of the small screen, the awards have brought in another distinction for television: network shows and cable series are now separated (and fan favorite Game of Thrones pops up for its first season).

You'll be able to watch the results when the show airs tonight, and remember: we are LIVE from the red carpet and backstage throughout the show! The live show starts at 5 p.m. PST/ 8 p.m. EST, and you can watch us here.

Announcing the 2012 Golden Globe Nominations!

Well, folks, we're finally getting into the heavy hitters of award season, as the 2012 Golden Globe nominees were announced this morning. As expected, award season darlings The Artist and The Descendants led the way with five nods apiece, but there are plenty of surprises here, too. George Clooney is going to have a big night, as his The Ides of March scored four nods, including one for him as a director. Ryan Gosling managed to score two nods for acting, for Crazy, Stupid, Love as well as Ides.

In the TV categories, new shows ruled as nods for New Girl, Game of Thrones, Boss, Episodes, Enlightened, and Homeland made the list - and that's not all. Zooey Deschanel scored a best actress nod, as did Mireille Enos for her work on The Killing and Laura Dern for Enlightened.

Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis Reunite For a Pre-Oscars Party!

Black Swan's Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis reunited last night for a Vanity Fair and Fox Searchlight Films bash in Beverly Hills. The pregnant star and her fiancé Benjamin Millepied arrived back in LA on Wednesday evening ahead of this Sunday's Oscars. Natalie is a favorite for the best actress win, and we celebrated her success by taking a look back at her amazing award season run. We're also gearing up to see what she picks from hair and makeup to the dress she chooses to accommodate her growing baby bump. Mila will be a presenter during the show, an honor she shares with everyone from Justin Timberlake to Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey. Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy stuck together at yesterday evening's soiree after she attended Tuesday's Costume Designers Guild event. Emma Roberts posed with her friend and onscreen mom in Homework, Elizabeth Reaser. The Breaking Dawn matriarch has yet to join the rest of the cast, including little Mackenzie Foy, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart, in Vancouver. There are rumors that Robert will fly back to California for a quick Oscars cameo, but whether or not it's Mr. Pattinson, the producer promises a Twilight presence. Friday Night Light fans are finally getting their due: Kyle Chandler is taking home his very first Emmy, for outstanding lead actor in a drama series. He beat out Mad Men's Jon Hamm, Timothy Olyphant of Justified, Steve Buscemi for Boardwalk Empire, Dexter's Michael C. Hall, and Hugh Laurie for House. It's a bittersweet victory, as FNL just saw its final seasons, but the Panthers definitely have much to celebrate tonight.

Who Should Win the Emmy For Best Actor, Drama?

With Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston out of the Emmy race this year, the category for best actor in a drama series is definitely the one to watch. You probably recognize most of the faces who are up for nods (three of them have been nominated four times!) but now it's time to pledge your allegiance to one of these men.

Both Jon Hamm of Mad Men and Michael C. Hall of Dexter have been nominated four times with no wins, while Justified's Timothy Olyphant is an Emmy newbie. Steve Buscemi is also earning his first nomination for Boardwalk Empire, and he's one to watch since he took home the Golden Globe earlier this year. House's Hugh Laurie has racked up four nods with no trophy to speak of, while Kyle Chandler lands in the category for the second year in a row for his work on Friday Night Lights.

It's anybody's game, and we can't wait to see who will earn the trophy for the first time. If you were an Emmy voter, who would you choose - and why?
