Basic Accessories For Your New HDTV

While many of you may have gone HD a while ago, I was content with my old, boxy TV for years. But thanks to a great Black Friday deal, I finally decided to upgrade. However, since I've never owned an HDTV before, I know that my TV upgrade saga isn't over.

There are a few things that I'll be buying to round out my viewing pleasure. While I'm not going for the ultimate home theater experience, I do have some necessities, including the ability to stream and watch content from my computer and keep everything hassle-free. Apple Upgrades MacBook Air, Mini, Does Away With White MacBook

Apple added and subtracted a few things from its Apple Store this morning, boosting the MacBook Air and Mac Mini models with some additional features, rolling out OSX Lion for purchase, and doing away with the white MacBook forever, encouraging you to tote lighter, faster, and sleeker laptops for years to come. MacBook Air

The new Macbook Airs are the lightest, thinnest, and cheapest in the laptop category now, with the 11-inch starting at $999 and the 13-inch at $1,299. New specs in both models include a back-lit keyboard, new and fast i5 and i7 Intel processors, and Thunderbolt connections for fast data transfer. Of course, you still get the same sleek touchpad, flash storage, and long-lasting battery life in all of the models along with the latest version of OSX Lion.

Updates You May Have Missed: Mac Mini and Apple Store App

With all the iPhone 4 preorder madness, you may have missed a few other updates coming from Apple yesterday - a new Mac Mini refresh and the Apple Store App for iPhone.

First up, the Mac Mini: an all-new 7.7-inch unibody aluminum casing packs in an HDMI port for hi-def viewing, SD card slot to transfer photos, an upgraded NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics card, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 320GB hard and 2GB of RAM. Additionally, there's now an integrated power supply (which frees up some room from that old power brick) and a removable bottom so you can upgrade your RAM yourself. Available now, prices start at $699.

WWDC 2010 Rumors: Which Will Come to Pass?

I know you've been on the edge of your seat all weekend, just dying to know what will be announced at the WWDC kickoff today. Besides the obvious - the movie-worthy iPhone 4 - there have been a few other rumors swirling around. Take a gander at a few of them, and tell me if you think they'll be more than rumor by day's end:

Free MobileMe - There have been reports of MobileMe subscribers' status switching from "Individual" to "Full Member" over the weekend. This leads some to believe that the MobileMe service will soon become free for all.
New Apple TV - The evidence is pretty overwhelming that a new and improved $99 Apple TV will be making an appearance this year.

Though I'm more of a gas-friendly, small-car kind of gal, I wouldn't mind taking a ride in this Executive Interior Concept Bentley that features sweet, sweet gadgets throughout. Not only is the entertainment and audio system powered by a Mac Mini from the trunk, but the rear seats are probably the best in the house. Five Techy Places Where the Men's Bathroom Line Is Worse Than the Women's

One of the perks of being a geek girl at CES is getting to hang out with the boys. A lot of them! As such, techy events may be some of the few places that the lines for the men's room outlast those for the women's. Here, a list of five awesome bathroom line experiences we've seen in the recent past.

CES After running around the corner for a quick bathroom break at this year's CES, I was greeted with a huge line. . . for the men's room. The ladies' was smooth sailing the whole way through.
WWDC Apple's developer conference, held in San Francisco each year; again, it's a welcome sight to see lines out the door for the gents and manageable or even empty for the ladies.
Apple's campus On an average non-event day, there are plenty of women on Apple's Cupertino, CA campus. . . but there are more guys. During one visit around lunchtime, I noticed some wait time for the guys but hardly any for the women.
MacWorld Since it's sort of like a mini-CES, MacWorld experiences a similar bathroom situation. Except once, I saw some women's restrooms being changed to accommodate men - talk about a funny role reversal!
E3 There are very few girls at this gaming conference in Los Angeles. . . that means easier access to all of the bathrooms, mirrors, sinks, and hand dryers.
