MTV Decides to Launch Its Own Music Site

Take Hulu and YouTube, add some pretty colors, and you've got MTV's latest creation: MTV Music. Not a revolutionary new music site, but what I do like about it is it's your one-stop shop for thousands of music videos from the past and from the future (Duran Duran, vintage Madonna, it's all there). Choose to watch on the site or embed on your own blog, and it even gives you a full screen option. They've still got some kinks to work out, but overall, a handy and simplistic music site.

MTV And HP Host PC Design Competition

If you're sick and tired of boring computer designs now is the time to get out your art supplies and seek inspiration. HP and MTV are hosting a global “Take Action. Make Art" design competition and challenging people around the world to create graphics for a special edition HP notebook PC. read more

Contest entrants are being asked to submit ideas from "subjects they are passionate about, whether it’s related to fashion, music, the environment or peace." The winning design will be selected by a panel of judges including Shaun White, snowboarding Olympic gold medal winner and one of the “achievers” featured in HP’s “The Computer is Personal Again” marketing campaign. The winning submission will then be used in the design of a special edition HP Pavilion notebook PC.

HP has been on an advertising roll recently, launching a print campaign with Gwen Stefani as well as online and TV spots with Serena Williams, Jay-Z and Vera Wang.

Contestants can submit a design along with a brief explanation at MTV through Oct. 17.

MTV Introduces Virtual Hills and Laguna Beach

Earlier this month, MTV jumped on the geeky virtual reality bandwagon by introducing Virtual Hills and Laguna Beach where users can interact in the same environment as the Laguna Beach characters. You can choose your own wardrobe, meet others and shop for the hottest trends. A little FYI - MTV plans to show episodes in Virtual Laguna Beach a day before they are shown on TV so you can get your Laguna fix before everyone else.

Last night on The Hills, Stacie and Kristin took a little road trip to Vegas where they put the sin back in Sin City. With their overnight rendezvous and constant canoodling, it was evident that Kristin and Justin Bobby have patched things up. This week on The City, we finally get a glimpse of Whitney's designs! During the shoot for her look book, Roxy gets a little bossy - as usual - and Whitney defends her - as usual. I particularly enjoyed the drama between Erin and Olivia this week; Erin is finally standing up to Olivia!
