Get Song Lyrics Added to Your YouTube Videos

I'm a sucker for listening to all my new favorite songs on YouTube, so when I saw this neat tip on Lifehacker, I wanted to share it with all of you! To get started you'll need Firefox and this Greasemonkey extension. The Googlesystem Blog explains that this Greasemonkey script creates a section titled "lyrics" below the video's description, and will display them when expanded (you'll notice different lyrics services for the song). So now when you see Scarlett Johansson's new music video, you'll be able to sing along!

Misunderstood Lyrics

You know you've done it. You're listening to a song, you have no idea what's being sung, but later as you sing it to yourself you realize you've supplied some creative lyrics. Classic example? "Blinded By the Light," which, if you believed everyone who sang it, includes the line "Wrapped up like a douche." Here's a heavy metal example. I've never heard of Children of Bodom, but a couple fans have, and this is what they came up with.

Meet the Euro Pop Princesses of the '60s: Yé-Yé Girls

Are the yé-yé girls having resurgence? First there was Megan's infamous Mad Men song and dance number, and now they've come up again in Wes Anderson's latest film Moonrise Kingdom. In the film - set in 1965, a year before this season of Mad Men - Suzy Bishop is one half of the lovesick preteen couple at the center of the movie. While her style is clearly fashioned after the yé-yé girls, Suzy's interest in the pop singers is brought up at one point when she shows her love interest, Sam Shakusky, her favorite album, Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles by yé-yé girl Françoise Hardy. Later in the movie, Sam and Suzy have a very entertaining dance scene on the beach in their underwear to her song "Le Temps de l'Amour" ("The Time of Love").

Derived from "yeah! yeah!", the yé-yé movement was comprised of female pop singers from France, Québec, Italy, and Spain. The themes and lyrics of the songs, often written by men like Serge Gainsbourg, were deceptively innocent, as the girls beamed sexy naiveté. One not-so-innocent song Serge wrote for yé-yé singer France Gall was "Les Sucettes" ("Lollipops"), which was really referring to oral sex. It included the line, "Annie loves lollipops, aniseed lollipops, when the sweet liquid runs down Annie's throat, she is in paradise." Watch SNL's "Lazy Sunday 2"

"Lazy Sunday" was one of the skits that made Saturday Night Live's digital shorts wildly popular, so I'm kind of surprised it's taken this long for The Lonely Island to put out a sequel. No matter, though, because Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell teamed up yet again for this weekend's episode, with the aptly titled "Lazy Sunday 2." This time around, the guys are off to see Sister Act instead of The Chronicles of Narnia with some hilarious lyrics about the joys of late brunching and beyond.

Jay-Z Talks Baby Blue and Makes an All-American Announcement

Jay-Z was in the City of Brotherly Love yesterday to announce his involvement with the Budweiser's Made in America two-day musical festival, which will take place over Labor Day weekend. Jay will headline the holiday celebration, featuring 30 acts at Philadelphia's Fairmount Park. The mega-music event will take place Sept. 1 and 2 with proceeds benefiting the United Way.

Jay talked about his involvement with the show, saying, "I'll headline the first night; I'll probably get one of those silly headsets with the thing, just to look important. . . You'll see me with probably a beer in my hand, just enjoying the festivities and the music like everyone else. I'ma try and keep it as normal and simple as possible." Jay also hinted that Beyoncé might join him on stage during his act, "I tried to put it far enough away that she'd have a little gap in her schedule, so hopefully that works."

Beyoncé wasn't the only lady on his mind during his chat with the press. When asked about his return to music and how Blue has influenced Jay-Z's sound and lyrics he responded, "I thought that I would after my daughter was born. I thought I would be more inspired with all the new feelings and everything that I'd have to write about, but it really happened the other way. . . I just really wanna hang out with her. I just wanna enjoy those moments for a bit and I'm sure that feeling of music will come back to me."

Kim Kardashian was the spitting image of her mom, and manager, Kris Jenner wearing a short wig for her Vogue Italia photo shoot in LA yesterday. Kris wasn't on hand to see Kim's homage to mom, but boyfriend Kanye West kept her company between snaps. The new look was a hit with Kanye who sweetly kissed Kim, being careful not to smudge her makeup. Their relationship seems to be going well and has even inspired a new song from Kanye. He's reportedly ready to drop a new single with lyrics referring to Kim, "Now she back in the club in a tight dress with dreams of someday wearing a white dress. Even though I met you in the club in a tight dress/At first sight I could picture you in a white dress."

Kim and Kanye's PDA was also on display Saturday night, when the pair sat courtside during the Lakers game. Kanye and Kim, in a sexy, tight leather dress, cheered on the hometown team to a win over the Denver Nuggets while another hot pair, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, put on a show for the kiss cam.

American Idol: Was the Right Person Voted Off?

There was some bittersweet irony on the American Idol stage tonight as the show's biggest country star, Carrie Underwood, returned to her old stomping grounds to perform a song off her new album. Minutes later, this season's country crooner, Skylar Laine, was sent packing. Mentor Jimmy Iovine was on hand with some commentary, and it appears he just thought Skylar was confused by her songs, saying she didn't seem to understand the lyrics to her choices this week, "Fortunate Son" and "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me."

Hollie Cavanagh was in the bottom two with Skylar, and personally I'm a little surprised she's still around. Admittedly, Skylar's had better weeks, but she's also been a consistent performer. In any case, it's just going to get more emotional from here, folks. With four contestants left, the finale is in sight and that season 11 title could go to any of the remainders. What do you think; was Skylar robbed?
