Holy smokes, folks: a laptop bag for $998 before tax (and I thought that $800 Burberry bag was excessive). I don't know if I have ever even seen $998 before tax. But whoever has, I suppose, is in the unique position of being able to purchase one of these delightfully colored ostrich-skin Bodhi Ostrich Laptop Sleeves from Nordstrom (to reiterate, they each cost $998).

Curiously, these sleeves bear a striking resemblance to the $150 Rebbecca Minkoff Virginia Laptop Bag - and I don't know about you, but I'd go Minkoff any day of the week.

Holy Burberry, Batman: It's $800 Laptop Time

It's not like I expected any bag from Burberry to be affordable, but that doesn't mean that the high prices don't take my breath away each time. For more than some people's monthly rent - $795 - you can be the proud and posh owner of one Burberry Brit Check Laptop Bag.

It's not the most pricey of designer laptop bags - YSL's $1,800 beauty comes to mind - but it's certainly up there. Who's taking this? And if you are, please tell me what your recession-proof profession is.

Considering I already feel like a superstar when I'm playing the Xbox 360 karaoke game Lips, a blinged out microphone could only be icing on the cake.

Oh and they are. The Crystallized Swarovski Lips Microphones are a pair of black and white crystal mics that will dazzle your fellow singers (after your voice does, natch). Of course, like most crazy fabulous things, they're limited edition and pretty pricey - $680.

Ridiculous, sure, but you have to remember - like Kelly Kapoor on a recent episode of The Office, you'll look like J. Lo.

Hey, Big Spender: Please Consider the Givenchy Camera Case

Forget for a moment how completely impractical it is to pay $3,620 for a camera case. Just check out the camera case Givenchy made. Clear crystals, black leather: yes, you'd feel like a fashionista badass pulling your camera out of that.

Back down to earth, though, I just gotta say, wowee. Three grand for something you paid under three hundred for?

I'm not here to judge if you're going to snap this up, but let me just say, if you're going to buy this, please also consider adopting me.

Goyard Laptop Sleeves: I Have Died and Gone to Heaven

Man alive, did I have to see these spankin' new laptop sleeves by Goyard in this month's Vogue right when I am at my most vulnerable - post-Christmas, when all I want to do is shop?

But at $830 each, they're more expensive than many laptops on the market, but I'm still sighing big. Goyard is my fantasy/someday bag maker, and now they've also got my fantasy/someday laptop bag.

Where would we be without a little fantasy? They're the anti-necessity, but I love to look at luxurious accessories, whether I could ever afford them or not.

I had a lot of faves this year, but my absolute fave coincides with your pick for favorite luxury gadget accessory of 2008!

The good looks of YSL's Downtown Computer Case beat the competition with 28 percent. It still hasn't come down from its $1,800 price point, so it'll remain an image on a screen for me. A very sexy image on a screen.

This is the year where it's been kind of bad to be the priciest, most luxurious gadget accessory, but just because we can't order anything, doesn't mean we can't peruse the menu!

My fave untouchable luxury accessories were either cast in leather, like Mulberry's and YSL's laptop bags, real gold, like Tiffany's Camera Bracelet and the Solid Gold Flash Drive, or gold lookalike - as in LaCie's Golden Disk Drive and Gold Python BlackBerry Purse.
