DIY: Mason Jar Garden Lights

Considering the prices of garden lights these days, I've been looking for a low-cost alternative. Lucky me, I found a DIY for temporary garden lights you can make from only LEDs, lithium coin cells, mason jars, and a little bit of tape. The lights will be temporary, until the battery runs out, but you can always refresh your battery supply just for about 30 cents each.
Supplies:

One ultrabright LED with a diffused lens per light
One CR2032 lithium coin cell per light
One mason jar per light
Tape, masking is fine

To learn the steps, read more.

Connect an LED directly across the terminals of the lithium coin cell, so the long lead goes to the positive (+) side of the battery.
Wrap it once with tape so the LED stays touching the battery cell.
Half-twist the LED 90 degrees from the battery cell so that it can bend that way and the two leads of the LED don't touch each other.
Tape the light to the inside of your mason jar lid.
Screw the lid on. Fini!

DIY Inspiration: A Midsummer Night's Dream Light

Craftster reader FrouFrouFreak made this "Midsummer Night's Dream Light" from floral wire, electrical wire, newspaper, Mod Podge, paint, LED lights, and some craft store details like silk flowers, birds, and butterflies. I can't recall the last time I was floored by a DIY project, so this one definitely takes the cake! It's simply magical. It looks just as fabulous and fairy-tale like sparkling in the dark as it does turned off in broad daylight. I can honestly say I'd pay big money to own this (more than the Crave Worthy butterfly chandelier I recently posted), and feel inspired to take on a time-intensive DIY project of my own. Do you love it? Has it motivated you to put on your DIY hat?

Welcome to 24, one of the most technologically-advanced bars located in London, England. Said to be the first fully-interactive bar in the world, 24 will feature computer controlled projections that can transform images and video on a blank canvas wall with the click of a switch. There will also be hundreds of LED lights installed that will give the venue over 1,000 different color combinations. What is really unique are the interactive projections that will react to your movements when you attempt to touch them. For instance, say you are at the bar with a glass, the projections will send light beams across the base of the drink. Gigantic LED Screen Installed In Beijing Mall

This may look like the inside of a huge indoor aquarium or some swanky casino in Vegas, but it's actually a 250m by 30m LED screen inside a new mall in Beijing.

Displayed on Gizmodo, this elaborate screen measures a ginormous 7,500 square meters of viewable area and is 80 feet in the air. As you can see in the picture below, it is quite the massive structure. If you fancy one of these, they come with a hefty price tag of $32 million. I say display one of your favorite music videos and call it a party!

LED Motion Light Coffee Table

This interactive LED coffee table reminds me of a Lite-Brite. As in "Lite-Brite, Lite-Brite, turn on the magical shining light!" Just like the Lite-Brite, which in case you are confused was a small toy covered in multi-colored plastic pegs, this coffee table is decorated with lights as well. Four-hundred and eighty super-bright white LEDs to be exact. Using near-infrared optical sensors, each LED light is triggered by motion in the dark or full sunlight. You can literally make the light sweep across the table with a simple arm gesture as the lights get brighter when the movement is closer. Even when there is no motion, the LEDs will keep the table illuminated with a lovely twinkle effect. Showcased on Coolest Gadgets, this table only takes 35watts of power to operate when fully active (which is the equivalent to a household light bulb).Each coffee table is custom made from sustainable wood, can be made with a glass or plastic and frosted top. Prices start from $2,800 upwards and can take up to 4-6 weeks for delivery.

LED Alarm Clock Cubes by Jonas Damon

Boxy LED clocks aren't something I'd usually consider having in my apartment or on my desk. But this clock, designed by Jonas Damon is unique and chic.

Apart of his Open Edition collection, this LED clock is a series of cubes which display a glowing number. When each of the cubes are lined up, they will display the current time. At first glance, I guarantee you people will be wondering what all the random numbers are for- keep them guessing!

Each clock measures 2" x 1.5" x 1.5" (5 x 4 x 4 cm) and costs $90.

Dandlelight: Little Battery Powered LED Light

Created by Design Drift, the Dandelight is a little battery powered LED light with a pretty dandelion acting as the shade. I don't know if it's the fact that I spent hours of my childhood playing with the dandelions on my grandma's yard, but I'm wholeheartedly in love with this geeky little art piece.

Shower With Colored Lights Shatters My Bathtub Dreams

My BFF and I were having dinner Monday night and our topic turned to the fact that she is going to have to move out of her beautiful apartment soon and is worried she will never find a place with such ample closets and a cool claw-foot tub - both strict requirements for San Francisco dwelling.

I thought I was just as hung up on the idea of always having a Victorian bathtub as she is until I saw this amazing shower created by Signorini Design, which uses slim metallic blocks and attached lights to rain down the water in color.

The water is lit with red, yellow, green and blue lights for a dramatic - albeit geeky effect. "I'm just glad they finally made a shower that's as classy as I am," says Geekologie. "Now I can finally shower in my tuxedo and monocle and not have to worry about feeling out of place." Touché. Touché.
