Do You Ever Forget Your Own Phone Number?

Katherine Heigl recently told US Weekly that she didn't know her own phone number; "It's all in my iPhone!" she explained.

While a few years ago, I would have thought that was crazy, I have to admit that I actually don't know my work phone number or my house line. My excuse is the same as Katie's; I may not know them off the top of my head, but they're in my cell phone.

These days, I only know a handful of phone numbers by heart, like my main cell phone, my boyfriend's cell, and my mom's house line (because it was my phone number for years). I'm always trying to memorize more phone numbers for emergency situations, but I'll always think of my cell phone's contact list as a crutch. What about you?

Do You Ever Pretend to Listen to Music on Your Headphones?

This month's InStyle had a funny "Truth or Tabloid" item about Katherine Heigl - Star magazine claimed that the actress pretends to rock out to her iPod without music playing so that people won't bother her on the street. Her rep busted the rumor and responded that Katherine has an iPhone (which we can certainly attest to) and is usually just talking on the ear buds.

It's nice to know she's not hiding out, but I totally have to fess up here - I do this! I pretty much always have my earbuds in when I'm walking to and from work and on public transportation, and I'm not always listening to music. I admit to sometimes eavesdropping on conversations (hey, if you're talking on the bus, someone's listening), but I definitely do it to avoid being bothered. I have even pretended to be on the phone on my earbuds to get out of being bugged by those pesky solicitors on the sidewalk! Have you ever done this?

When I saw 27 Dresses this past weekend, I thought I was in for some light chick-flick action, but my geekiness was indulged when James Marsden sweetly gave Katherine Heigl's character a Palm 755p to replace her old worn-out date book. With Valentine's Day coming up, my head was swimming with geek love and the romantic possibilities of gadget gifts as I hope my boyfriend takes notice. I mean, really, is there anything more romantic than getting a device that makes your life easier? So you can spend more freed-up time with the giver, of course. Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl showed off her new white BlackBerry Pearl at the T-Mobile Café at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. I'm just jealous she got her hands on the new white model before I did.

The original iPhone was released in June 2007, but in 2008 Apple upgraded to the iPhone 3G and we witnessed more and more of young Hollywood testing out its touchscreen and apps. Brody Jenner showed off his iPhone on The Hills before his LG Shine commercial; singers Carrie Underwood, Ashley Tisdale, Hilary Duff and Jennifer Hudson presumably love easy access to iTunes; Katherine Heigl, Kelly Ripa and Megan Fox play with their iPhone on the set and streets, while Spencer Pratt and Whitney Port made their mini machines famous on The Hills.
