Who doesn't love a good round of karaoke? My girlfriends and I have been known to do some serious singing, so I'm super excited about the latest version of iKaraoke for my iPod or iPhone ($60).

The iKaraoke microphone comes with a 12-foot cord that plugs directly into your stereo, and software that dims or completely mutes the vocal track on any song. Use controls on the microphone to stop, repeat, and control the volume. It also comes preloaded with Tuneprompter software that lets you create your own karaoke videos. iKaraoke works with any iPod with a dock connector, so tap your inner-diva, plug it in, and get ready to rock!

I've heard of martini and manicure nights, but I've never heard of a karaoke manicure before. If you happen to live in Chicago, or have plans to visit, why not swing by My Nail Fetish salon, where they offer more than just a polish change?

That's right - you can belt out some tunage while your nails get a tune-up. While one hand is being worked on, you can pick up the microphone with the other one, as song lyrics are played on a TV above the nail tech. Would you be willing to sing the latest Beyonce tune while you're getting a manicure or not?

Buzz In: What's Your Go-To Karaoke Song?

Here at Sugar HQ we're gearing up for the annual holiday party and if past soirees are any indication, the karaoke machine will probably be a focal point. This is always a hilarious way to bond with co-workers, and I'm excited to find out which tunes people will choose to croon this year.

For some, selecting a karaoke song requires a bit of thought. "Paradise by the Dashboard Light," for example, is a fun song to sing, but once you get into it you might realize that it seems to go on forever (see also "November Rain" and "My Sharona," among many others). Can't be too slow and boring, and some of the super belt-y ones can go from amusing to annoying in no time.

So, what do you think I should sing when it's my turn at the mic? What are your favorite karaoke songs? Do you have a tried-and-true, go-to tune?

Baby Mama Reminds Me Everyone Loves Karaoke Revolution

I managed to sneak in a screening of Baby Mama this weekend and was reminded that Karaoke Revolution is a universal crowd pleaser. Without giving away any pivotal plot points of the movie I can reveal that Amy Poehler's character, the not-so-worldly Angie who Tina Fey's character Kate hires to carry her baby, spends ample time in Kate's apartment sharpening her Karaoke Revolution skills. The habit annoys Kate at first but eventually brings the two together when they join forces for a wicked "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" performance.
