In this economy, it's pretty likely that some of you are out of a job. But if heading into your cube farm made you cry every morning, and you can't stand the idea of doing it all over again from the bottom up, then take this time off to really find what it is you're looking for in a job. If you don't have Internet access, but you do have a laptop or cell phone with WiFi connectivity, OpenWiFiSpots provides a directory of over 24,647 free WiFi hotspots in the US.

In 1991, Apple introduced the first laptop, and 20 years later, Steve Jobs brings us the iPad to bridge the gap between the MacBook and iPhone. Just like the iPhone, the iPad lets you browse the Internet, use the touchscreen to flick through your photos, get directions via maps, access the iTunes Store to buy apps, and watch movies and TV shows in landscape mode. Using the touchscreen keyboard, you can send emails, chat, and use the iPad like a regular computer.

Companies LiveHire and LeafsofTalent are looking to blow up the workforce with Webcam Interview Ready Rooms (WIRRs) and Interview Ready Rooms (IRRs), so that employers and potential employees can connect remotely for job interviews. The plus side is, you won't have to worry about whether you should shake their hand.

If you ask me, using Skype for dating is one thing, but using it for a job interview is something entirely different. But now, employers are turning to Skype as a cost-cutting interview tool. Instead of flying prospective candidates for in-person meetings, some companies are using the video-chatting software to narrow the list to a few finalists.

Kerry Miller is the one-woman operation behind the blog Passive-Aggressive Notes; a collection of "painfully polite and hilariously hostile writings from shared spaces the world over." A site that started as a way to chronicle annoying roommate habits has since grown into a vibrant online community. In fact, I love the site so much, I've featured it twice; first back in 2007 shortly after its launch, and again last year.

Our Apple Steve fix has lately been sated by the Woz on Dancing With the Stars (vote for him tonight!), but what about the original Steve Jobs? As our guy's MIA, I have a special treat for you: Mini Steve Jobs! Yes, this tiny tot dressed up for Halloween as Steve Jobs (or was dressed up by his geeky parents), complete with little fake iPhone.
