It hasn't really been Jessica Simpson's year. We all felt for her after her surprise breakup with Tony Romo, then her dog Daisy was snatched up by a coyote! Despite the drama, Jessica is hopeful that she'll find love again, and this time may even let her fingers do the talking online.

While at a QVC red carpet event last night, Jessica said that she isn't afraid of looking for love through the Internet, and may consider the method in the future. Although most of you aren't really keen on the idea of online dating, there's a large number of people who are finding long-lasting relationships through popular Internet sites. Stars! They have dating issues just like us. The latest on the Jessica Simpson-Tony Romo breakup is that there was a cell phone skirmish involved; supposedly ex John Mayer's texts may have come between the two (you'd think Mayer would have learned his lesson about technology's role in a breakup).

I've seen more than a few couples have issues over an ex still texting someone, and last week, I saw it on TV as well, when Cole on NYC Prep suggested that his on-again girlfriend Taylor tell her in-between Lothario Sebastian to stop texting her.

Most people stop calling each other after a breakup, but the low-pro status of texting sometimes remains a tempting way to stay in touch. But have you had to tell anyone - ex or otherwise - to stop sending you text messages?

To round out a day of jokes on April Fools' Day, CBS's I Get That a Lot prank show featured celebrities working regular-guy jobs and pretending to not be their recognizable selves. My favorite was Jessica Simpson as IT, helping out customers with support for their Macs at a place called Mac Enthusiast. First we saw Paris Hilton Learn Computer Skills, now Jessica Simpson is taking her stab at technology by discussing the internet. Actually, it's Simpson playing a fictional character of herself called "Jessica Sampson" in an old sitcom pilot for ABC. Here's a snip it of just one of the ridiculous lines from the skit (in reference to the internet of course):"it's a bookshelf with different books of all books"... I wonder if her real-life explanation of the net would be far off from this one?! Mayer might need to give her a crash course in "internet for dummies."

We already know that celebs like Jennifer Garner, Britney, LC, Jennifer Aniston, Fergie and Jessica Simpson are constantly attached to their cell phones and PDAs, but this is a rare sight- Beyonce actually holding a cell phone that is (gasp) connected to an earpiece? No the paparazzi didn't catch Beyonce out for an afternoon stroll. The real reason she's all wired up is because she just landed a deal with Samsung electronics and is shown here filming the first commercial in NYC. Does this mean that she might actually become a techie diva after all? Keep checking back for the finished commercial cut.

Everyone Can Play Paparazzi With A Camera Phone

According to Techdirt, technological advancements like the camera phone have taken the average Joe and turned him into a 'citizen journalist.' They say that "everyday people with camera phones are driving photographers' fees down to new lows." Most cell phones, including my lovely BlackBerry pearl have built-in, picture-ready cameras. Be at the right place, at the right time and anyone can capture a hot off the press shot. For some proof, check out PopSugar's celebrity sightings group where TeamSugar fans can post their pictures and stories about run-ins with celebs. Hmm, maybe I'll post my Ja Rule pic after all!

Do the Gimmicks for LG's Dare Make You Want to Buy It?

Since PetSugar had noticed the controversial portrayal of pit bulls in one of the commercials for LG's Dare, I began recalling the other commercials for the Dare, like this one where a Jessica Simpson-lookalike risks life and limb to get her Dare back from a ledge.

Since LG has begun giving their products cheeky names (many of them so similar to Alfred Hitchcock film titles that it warranted a quiz) and the voice over for these ads says sexily, "Dare You To Touch One" with its "bold features" and "fearless design," it seems like the company is reaching far into its bag of gimmicks to appeal to a young, hip audience (like they did with Lauren and Brody in their Shine commercial) by seeming edgy.

I'm not so sure that the controversy of the pit bull commercial was unintentional, either (thankfully the commercial got pulled); I mean, here we are, talking about it, after all. Juxtapose these ads with Apple's commercials, which, though they rely on catchy songs, the product is always the star - like in the MacBook Air commercial.

But you be the judge: after seeing these ads are you intrigued by the Dare? Do the ads influence your buying habits at all?
