Jennifer Hudson Waves With the 1G Instead of the 3G

The exact same iPhone Jennifer Hudson was spotted with in her video for "Spotlight," reappears. . . two months later. By no means am I saying that just because she's a celebrity that she needs to follow in the footsteps of other famous females and upgrade to the 3G. Actually, it's kinda refreshing to see a celeb stick out their cell phone selection for more than just a few months. So maybe the iPhone doesn't have GPS, 3G network access, or come in a sleek black or white plastic encasing, but it's tried, tested, and true - gotta love originals!

Jennifer Hudson Spotlights the iPhone

The last time I checked in with Jennifer Hudson, she was doing press for the Sex and the City movie and saying that she was not a geek like her character in the film, but that she was a Mac girl.

She wasn't lying, as you can see in her new video for "Spotlight," where she proves her Apple love by using an iPhone. Check out the video on her YouTube page!

She may not be a geek, but she definitely knows what's up! I'd bet that by now, she's even rocking the 3G.

Jennifer Hudson: Not a Techie Like Her SATC Character

Jennifer Hudson lights up the big screen alongside Sarah Jessica Parker in the Sex and the City movie, playing geek-chic Louise, Carrie's right-hand tech woman.

With a computer science degree behind her, Louise organizes Carrie's emails and calendar and revamps her outdated website, carriebradshaw.com, which by the looks of it still needs a makeover- so blah for Carrie!

Louise is also a big fashionista who drools over Carrie's divine Manolos and is a frequent customer of Bag Borrow or Steal for all the latest handbags. But in real life, Jennifer Hudson's tech knowledge is comparable to that of her fellow costar Chris Noth, who says he can handle the basics but that's about it.

How are your Mac skills?
I’m a Mac girl – MAC makeup and Mac computers. So I have a Mac computer, but I’m not a computer genius like Louise. And I’m not as organized as Louise, so don’t be fooled.

To get in an assistant kind of mode, I switched places with my assistant and I assisted him. So I would answer the phone, "Hello this is Louise speaking, Walter’s assistant, how may I help you?" to get into the groove of the character of being an assistant because I had never been an assistant before. And you don’t want me to be your assistant, trust me. I’d be like, you want me to get what?

Who Is Your Favorite Celeb iPhone User?

The original iPhone was released in June 2007, but in 2008 Apple upgraded to the iPhone 3G and we witnessed more and more of young Hollywood testing out its touchscreen and apps. Brody Jenner showed off his iPhone on The Hills before his LG Shine commercial; singers Carrie Underwood, Ashley Tisdale, Hilary Duff and Jennifer Hudson presumably love easy access to iTunes; Katherine Heigl, Kelly Ripa and Megan Fox play with their iPhone on the set and streets, while Spencer Pratt and Whitney Port made their mini machines famous on The Hills.

Sex and the City Movie Tech: Miranda and Her BB

We're in the homestretch now of our Sex and the City Movie premiere, and I can honestly say, Christmas came early this year! We've already jogged our memories on tech from past seasons, and last week we learned about some of the gadget gear from the movie! So Samantha has an iPhone, Louise (Carrie's assistant, played by Jennifer Hudson) uses a Sidekick, and Carrie likes to mix it up between cell phones and pay phones.

And what about Miranda you ask? You'll find her with a BlackBerry 8700, which is kinda odd, considering there have been at least three new models out since they started filming!
