Jennifer Lopez is going to be one of the first major recording artists to test drive a new way of purchasing music —
on a USB drive. According to
Luxist, luxury phone experts
Gresso have teamed up with various music companies to offer full albums on
flash drives. The first of the 'wooden'
USB drives includes JLo's new album Brave, which costs a whopping $70.

Ew. I would never get that.
1They have problems getting people to pay $15 for a CD, what makes them think anyone will want to pay $70?
2thats quite a good marketing strategy, althoug it isn't that pretty...but if made pretty, it could replace CD singles
3Maybe they'll sell Full CD's on a decorated, celeb-personalised USB stick in the future
4That seems cool, but I feel like the sound quality is going to diminish more than it already has. From vinyl to cd to mp3 downloads to this?
5This isn't as new as they claim. I attended a Barenaked Ladies concert *two years* ago, where they had their holiday CD and some other tunes for sale on a flash drive, I think it was $20 (but may have been $30). In their usual humorous style, it was marked as "Barenaked on a Stick"!
They were also selling downloads of that night's show, available through their web site with the assigned access code about a week later, for $20. Good deal for everyone!
6Meh. JLO's stuff is always so damn expensive.
7Interesting concept.
8$70, no thanks
9Are you kidding, I wouldn't download her album for free, she always sounds the same. I wish her luck with her pregnancy.
10i always lose my usb drives so i wouldnt spend taht much on one even if it has music on it
11The album isn't worth $9.99 let alone $70. Thank God for Rhapsody.
The drive looks nice but I am sure it's not good for anything else.
12I'm not a JLO fan, but that is a clever marketing idea I must say I'm not sure whether USB could ever replace CD's the way DVD's have replaced VHS these past few years.
13It's an interesting product that i could see appealing to people but not for that price
14I want this!
