Pam From The Office Takes Off Her Clothes For Wired

The April cover of Wired Magazine will feature a package of stories about radical transparency, their notion that the next model of business success is laying your company bare to the world-sharing secrets with your rivals, blogging about ideas as you have them, and copping to fumbles and foibles as you make them. Even more transparent, I fear, is the magazine's cover, which features the fabulously funny and smart Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam on The Office. No there won't be any foil wrapping, but Fischer will appear clothed in the top cover and "naked" on a second cover underneath.

"If you're talking about transparency, the obvious metaphor is clear: you're naked," says Wired's Creative Director. "So of course, Wired being Wired we wanted a cover that was smart and showy. And as Creative Director I wanted something that hadn't been done before. We settled on the idea of printing on clear acetate. But it had to be interactive. While Fischer isn't actually naked, the raciness is a first for the magazine and has already started a wave of discussion across the web. The message to "Get Naked And... Rule The World" that I don't take lightly, and I am certainly not alone. "It's familiar boy's club crap," says Back In Skinny Jeans. "Yeah, just sex up the receptionist. Why didn't you throw in the pot of coffee while you were at it? Naked women on business magazines is just wrooooong, and that's why it's never been done before by anyone with class."

Geek Of The Week: Jenna Fischer

The Office star Jenna Fischer is more chic, than she is geeky, but she deserves major props for her role on the hilarious show and for putting up with the mostly-male and outlandishly geeky cast. She also deserves kudos for her fun and geeky office antics as Pam Beesly, who better end up with hottie Jim Halpert or I'm planning a geek uprising.

Jenna, who was voted No. 37 in People Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful issue of 2006, was actually a receptionist in real life too. She apparently worked in various offices and types 85 words per minute with 90% accuracy. Could be better, but could be worse - still geek chic.

Martha Stewart Does Edible Geek On Wired

Homemaking expert Martha Stewart may not have stripped down like Jenna Fischer for her cover of Wired, but she does get her geek on with a baked-to-perfection Wii cake and by revealing her inner techieness.

Gadget obsessed Martha stays connected with her BlackBerry and Razr (pink perhaps?) and it's no surprise that the super organized Stewart has a "servery," a room with two long white marble counters on either side with lots of plugs, where she keeps her gadgets, charges her cameras and stores batteries. She also attempts to keep wires and "crap" (no lie) to a minimum, opting for iPods in every room with wireless speakers. Here are some more highlights from the interview:

On the new marthastewart.com re-design: "I'm working on Marthapedia right now, which is my version of Wikipedia. If you know how to take red wine out of a white cloth napkin better than I do, that's good to know. We'll be editing user content, and it won't be as freewheeling as Wikipedia. Because a lot of this - you have to really monitor it."
What geeks can learn from her: "First of all, they can learn to prioritize, and they can learn how to make things beautiful. It's about using your hands and your mind to make things work better. Whether you're a programmer or a seamstress, it's all about new techniques, simplifying old techniques, and consolidating steps. Making things go faster - but not worse. Better."

Soon You Can Play 'The Office' In Your Office

That's what she said, right? The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Publisher MumboJumbo has teamed up with Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group to develop mass-market games based on the NBC series "The Office."

The first "Office" game, which will be out next year, will be a task-management game like "Diner Dash." Players will get to try out roles like Jim Halpert and interact with such other characters as Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer, who is famous on geeksugar for her racy Wired Magazine cover) and of course, the infamous Michael Scott (Steve Carell).

The game will be released as a PC game sold at retail and available as an online digital download. Next year, the plan is to create additional games based on "The Office" license beginning with portable experiences for the Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable.

Back in the day (okay it was like six months ago) when I was a regular MySpace user, I became obsessed with searching the entire database for celebrities. Yes, this entailed weeding out the real guys from the fakes, but in all honesty you can add people like Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and the infamous Jenna Fischer to your friends list. Apparently, these lesser known celebs aren't the only people getting in on the MySpace generation.

According to EUX.TV actress Halle Berry says she really does chat with total strangers on the internet, very similar to the character she plays in her new movie "Perfect Stranger."
