Despite studies that say consumers aren't swayed by celebrity endorsements, celebrity-driven gadget ad campaigns are at an all time high.
Whether celebrity gadget sightings are unintentional (take for instance Alicia Keys playing with her Samsung Camcorder at a Knicks game, or Lauren Conrad taking her BlackBerry with her everywhere), others are very intentional and well paid for. The reemergence of HP's The Computer is Personal Again staring Serena Williams got me thinking about the top celebrity gadget endorsements of the last couple of years and why companies continue to use famous names and faces to rep their products.

Annie and Jay-Z were right: it's a hard-knock life. Sure, there are amazing days that make you smile and affirm how fantastic it is to be alive, but some days you can't help but get bogged down in the day-to-day grind and have to fight to be positive. There's work to be done, to-do items to be checked, bills to pay and people who won't stop pestering you to do things for them.

With the 2008 Summer Olympics coming to a close in Beijing yesterday, all eyes were certainly on Olympic gold medal winner (eight times over) Michael Phelps. So we already know that Phelps had a fancy schmancy Speedo suit that made him super slippery and buoyant during races, but what about his tech habits? In this week's issue of People, some tech tidbits about Phelps were revealed!

HP has announced Serena Williams as the latest celebrity to take part in its "The Computer is Personal Again" ad campaign just in time for the US Open.
The series previously featured Jay-Z, Vera Wang, Pharell and Shaun White and has generated some buzz for showcasing headless celebrities talking about what they do on their computers. Last time we saw Williams around gadgets she was "making news" clutching her limited edition Dwayne Wade Sidekick, so this ad is a real upgrade.
