A picture may be worth a thousand words, but methinks the first photo snapped on a new camera or phone is usually worth less than a buck.
PopSugar Community member Lydiat recently shared the first pic her sister took on her new phone, and I chuckled when I realized I have a collection of similar premiere pics. Whenever I buy or review a new device, my instinct is to take a quick shot of my desk, my shoes, or the street I'm standing on.

As I mentioned last week, we're teaming up with DearSugar to bring you a series about love and the technologies that connect us called Tech Dating 101 ('cause we all have our fair share of questions in this department!). So now that we've covered the ins and outs of changing your relationship status on social networking sites like Facebook, it's time to tackle a topic that always raises lots of questions — online announcements like births, breakups, and weddings. And now for our second question of the series:
Is it appropriate to make big life announcements online?:
Yes and no, depending on what the announcement is.

A man after my own heart, Mike Fahey is a game addict. Currently helping to hold down the East Coast office of Kotaku, and ripping through game after game so you don't have to, Mike is a man of many hats. He's been everything from an arcade attendant (totally expected) to a vinyl sign cutter (huh?), but still, his love for games made him who he is today.

With Sex and the City mania in full swing on the Sugar network, I thought I'd take a moment to reflect on something that was just as important as Carrie's signature Manolo Blahnik shoes — the fab four's home tech! For Carrie, her humble abode was also her workspace, which meant that trusty black G3 PowerBook was regularly spotted on her desk, the floor, her bed and everywhere else. Have a peek at the slideshow to see where the other ladies' set up their "geek sanctuaries"!

Look, I'm great at suspending my disbelief for TV shows — I am an avid Lost viewer, after all. But the portrayal of the Internet and blogging in new show Quarterlife is just too much.
I was so excited when I heard that this show (which I'd never watched on MySpaceTV before) would feature the main character as a blogger — a lot of people have personal blogs nowadays, and I was hoping the show could explore the impact of a female blogger who blogs about her friends and personal life.

Wendy and Nico took to the skies in this week's episode of Lipstick Jungle, armed with their glamorous handbags, designer shoes, and travel-friendly cell phones.
Not a ton of gadgetry this week, although cell phones definitely dominated the show. How could Wendy downgrade her stylin' iPhone for a pink (?) mini handheld?

I've been wrestling with the ultimate holiday dilemma: do I get my boss a gift this holiday season or not? On the one hand, it's kind of pushy, and she probably doesn't expect it, but on the other hand, she puts up with my tardiness and wild ideas year round. If I do decide to, these are my top picks:
Toothbrush Sanitizer
If your boss is a germaphobe like mine, he or she would probably be tickled pink to get a Toothbrush Sanitizer that uses UV light to eliminate up to 99.9 percent of germs.

ThinkGeek has long been a go-to destination for geek shoppers online, so when I was introduced to one of their Merchandising Assistants and she immediately divulged she is a geeksugar fan, I realized we were a match made in heaven.
Andrea Owens, who describes herself as "laid back, high strung, random, a little bit crazy, fun, and a little bit of an organizing control freak," had always been a fan of Thinkgeek and had joked it would be so awesome to work there. After moving to Virginia, she checked the website to look at a gift for her husband noticed they were hiring.

Paris Hilton seems to change her cell phone and SIM card as often as she changes boyfriends and shoes. If I have give her credit for anything, it's that she seems to incorporates them as a fashion accessory in her photo shoots and she even took the time to bling a few of them out with rhinestones. Can you guess all these phones?

Shows like Beauty and the Geek give male geeks a bad rep. I have news for you folks, not all geeks think pocket-protectors and worn corduroy pants are trendy. In fact, I know plenty of eligible geeky bachelors that showcase the very best of geekiness: smarts, passion, chic clothing, success in their field and the ability to program your TiVo, computer or Blackberry when you’re not in the mood.
