Genius Kid Sets World Record For Guitar Hero

Not only does Danny Johnson speak four languages, play the piano, saxophone, oboe, and drums, but he also set the Guinness World Record for the highest score in Guitar Hero playing the toughest song available: "Through The Fire and Flames." I am not even close to completing the song, and am kind of in awe of how fast his 14-year-old fingers move on that plastic guitar.

His score of 890,971 is the world's highest, and Danny says that if anyone beats his score, he'll be right on their tail with even more points. Check out his gaming skills in the CNN video above.

Firefox 3 Makes It Into the Guinness Book of World Records

Hoorah! It looks like with your ample help, Firefox 3 made it into the prestigious pages of The Guinness Book of World Records, as was their goal. Mozilla's achievement is in the most downloads on a 24-hour period: 8,002,530!

I know some fraction of those were geeksugar readers so pat yourselves on the back for helping make history!

I'm already getting used to Firefox 3 and experimenting with tricks for anything I don't like, but I couldn't be happier with it now, and I hope you'll join me in congratulating Mozilla and Firefox 3: High fives all around!

New Fastest Texting Record Set by Teen

Thirteen-year-old National Texting Champion Morgan Pozgar may be able to type "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" in fifteen seconds, but the real question is - can she do it blindfolded? Elliot Nicholls, a 17-year-old from Dunedin, New Zealand has set a new record for speed texting without looking at the screen.

According to Spluch, Nicholls was able to text "The razor toothed piranhas of the genera serrasalmus and pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality, they seldom attack a human" in a record breaking 45 seconds without any mistakes.

PC World Exposes The Top 25 Web Hoaxes and Pranks

Ever get the e-mail about that lost relative that's died and left you a fortune, only you have to share your banking number with someone in West Africa? What about the e-mail promising a cash payout from Bill Gates if you forward an e-mail to a bagillion of your friends? Online pranks and shams are all too familiar to those of us that live on the web, but that doesn't mean they aren't delightfully funny or painfully jarring. This month's PC World has put together a list of the The Top 25 Web Hoaxes and Pranks and I for one, took a little trip down memory lane. Highlights include:

The Accidental Tourist (2001) - Quite possibly the most famous hoax picture ever, this gruesome idea of a joke traveled around the Web and made a grand tour of e-mail inboxes everywhere soon after the tragedy of September 11. It depicts a tourist standing on the observation deck of one of the World Trade Center towers, unknowingly posing for a picture as an American Airlines plane approaches in the background.
Sick Kid Needs Your Help (1989) - This gem had its roots in reality. It all began in 1989, when nine-year-old cancer patient Craig Shergold thought of a way to achieve his dream of getting into the Guinness Book of World Records. Craig asked people to send greeting cards, and boy, did they. By 1991, 33 million greeting cards had been sent, far surpassing the prior record.
Bill Gates Money Giveaway (1997) - "Dear Internet Subscriber," the e-mail starts. "The Government of the United States is quietly pushing through legislation that will affect your use of the Internet." It goes on to reveal that "Bill 602P" will authorize the U.S. Postal Service to assess a charge of five cents for every e-mail sent.
