This might bring you back, waay back to the late eighties when those green turtles took the world by storm. But when we saw this geek chic diva in a Play Girlz poll, we just had to post her as a geek of the week! In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Secret of the Ooze, actress Paige Turco plays April O'Neil, the Channel 6 news reporter who helps the Turtles take on the evil Shredder.

It can be argued that every character on NBC's hit Heroes, is prime Geek of the Week material, mostly due to the fact that they are all ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities...the life story of most geeks. But dreamer Milo Ventimiglia, who tries to convince his politician brother that he can fly, is in a league of his own. Of course, my judgment might be clouded by the fact that he's so beautiful.

When it comes to geeky men, David Duchovny still takes the cake for me. Despite the fact that the X-Files has been off the air for nearly 10 years, it's still alive in syndication and the memory of geeks everywhere. Duchovny, who seems to keep busy with indie film projects and directing episodes of shows like Bones, will reportedly be the lead in an upcoming comedy show on cable.

Battlestar Galactica has a lot of street cred as a geeky, smart and fun Sci-fi show. In fact, it seems to attract non-geeks and geeks alike despite being about the end of the world and Cylons. Among the cast is former Victoria's Secret model Tricia Helfer, who plays Number Six, a Cylon that uses her looks as a weapon.

I am opposed to Fox's Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader show on the grounds that I've forgotten most of the trivial knowledge I ever learned and well, I am not really sure if knowing state capitals makes a smart human being. (Don't worry, I do know state capitals, I'm just saying...) Still, I have been charmed by the cute geekiness of Alana, 9, and Laura, 11, the two female 5th graders on the show.
In case you haven't seen the show, it tests adults’ lack of knowledge – as revealed by how much they’ve forgotten since elementary school.

So Rainn Wilson, aka the always hilarious Dwight Schrute on The Office, wasn't as funny as I thought he would be as the host of SNL, but that doesn't make him any less geeky in my book. Rainn was featured in Parade Magazine's "In Step With" section this weekend and I learned he is (gasp) off the market, was in Almost Famous (anyone remember him? I don't!) and his favorite song is "We Will Rock You," by Queen.

Kristen Bell fanatic eclaireassuch nominated little Miss Veronica Mars as geeksugar's Geek of the Week after creating a Veronica Mars fanclub. The funny thing is, Kristen just happens to be featured on the cover of this month's Geek Monthly, a hot new magazine that covers all things geek. I have to concur, Kristen manages to play up the chic geek role better than anyone these days.

In one of my favorite movies of all time, Good Will Hunting, Minnie Driver plays Skylar, a super smart Harvard medical student whose intellect and charm ends up winning the heart of her fellow co-star Will Hunting, played by Matt Damon. Skylar shows us just how cool it is to be a bookworm while juggling the stressors of everyday life. Add photos of yourself, your best friend or that one geeky guy to the geeksugar Geek of the Week group or send us an e-mail nominating your favorite celebrity.

Yes, it's hard to believe, but Miss Drew Barrymore was once a geek. Remember in Never Been Kissed when Drew played Josie Geller (known as Josie Grossie), a copy editor for the Chicago Sun-Times who wanted to be a reporter? When she finally got her big chance and was assigned to go under cover at a local high school, she reverted back to her geeky persona.

Former West Wing Star Allison Janney is her own definition of geek chic. Known for her witty role as Claudia Jean 'C.J.' Cregg, the White House Press Secretary, Janney held the seat as one of the most powerful women on television and was never afraid to use big words and strategy to scare anyone on the show.
