I hate to out my mom as a nongeek, but she's certainly not the most gadget-conscious person out there. She has a BlackBerry but refuses to set up her email. She has an iPod but hasn't updated the music since she first got it.

So maybe gadgets geared toward teenage girls are cuter than those for boys, but that doesn't mean the boys can't have a little fun, too. Teen boys tend to be gadget fanatics, so it's important to make sure you aren't buying something they already have. (Translation: Most teens, male or female, already own a MP3 player.)
If you are looking to impress the iPod nano, $150, is still a surefire hit, while the iPhone, $399, is still one of the most coveted gadgets of the season.

If my obsessions with Gossip Girl and The Hills have taught me anything it's that teen girls love shiny, fancy gadgets. I don't blame them. Gossip Girl's hot cameras and Verizon phones and Lauren Conrad's obsession with her BlackBerry are all lust worthy, but what does the average teen girl want this holiday season?

Thanks to amyfinke, who submitted these adorable heart-shaped mini digital photo frames to the My Geeky Valentine Group! Each frame holds about 56 images and costs around $50. They can also be used as a keychain or pendant so your sweetheart can show you off to all of his friends.

If your Valentine is like mine, he or she is probably going to need a little support in finding you the right gift to make you smile on the day of L-O-V-E. My sweetie isn't what I would call a great gift-giver (luckily he makes up for it by being an amazing cook and person!), so I've been dropping him some gigantic hints by forwarding him e-mails of geeky fabulous gifts like this funny fred cell phone receiver.
The retro red chic receiver,$20, connects to your cell phone, which means it's a handy "ear piece" and will add a little fun flare to your boring phone.

If you're looking for a chic desktop USB item that's actually practical, and you like having warm coffee all day, the USB Cafe Pad is a must have. It is a small desktop device that can warm your mug and keep your coffee or tea warm.
Just plug the Cafe Pad, $18.50, into your computer's USB connection, switch it on and enjoy your own personal warmer.

If you're like me you've been thinking about what to get all the geeks in your life since Thanksgiving, but haven't had any time to pick up the goodies. If you're running out of the house today in search of something consider checking out online electronic store guides, which feature some of the the hottest items this season.
The new tiny Apple 1 GB iPod Shuffle Metal (2nd Generation) is one of the fastest selling items at gadget stores this season because of its compact size, innovative design and crowd-pleasing technology.

Given my general sluggishness in the morning I've actually set up my alarm clock across the room from my bed so I have to force myself to get up and shut it off. Sadly, even that doesn't always work.
Apparently, someone else has dealt with the same morning blues because there's actually an alarm clock that will will jump off of your nightstand and wheel around your room looking for a place to hide.
