Described as the "world's foremost celebrity painter," Brandon Bird has garnered attention for his hip, vintage-inspired pieces and keen sense of pop culture. His piece, No One Wants to Play Sega with Harrison Ford, reminds me of a time when Sega was the coolest console around and Harrison Ford, aka Han Solo, was a hero to geeks around the world.
I am a Nintendo girl, but I always had fun playing Sega and thought Super Mario could get a good run out of Sonic the Hedgehog.

I've seen more of these little guys puttering around the city lately — especially since BellaSugar and George Clooney took one for a test drive — and in case you've never spotted one yourself, let me introduce you to the Smart Car! This pint-sized eco car is said to get up to 45 miles per gallon on the highway, and for all you commuters, that means less pain at the pump!
With Nissan announcing Monday that it will follow suit of GM, Ford, and Toyota and scale back on the production of SUVs and turn their focus to more fuel-efficient rides, I think you might be seeing more Smarts and Hybrids on the roads soon.

I've always been a free WiFi hunter, but having an iPhone has definitely heightened my hunting instincts. I am constantly seeking signals in cafes, restaurants, and stores and get a sick thrill out of finding one and getting online in unexpected places. Apparently, I'm not alone.

The other night I met up with some of my childhood friends at a cute club in the Mission in San Francisco. As we watched the slightly-less exciting third act (our friend spinned with the second act so we might have been a little biased) our conversation turned to the hilarious mix tapes we used to make one another when we were kids. While we didn't use anything like the AIWA Radio-Cassette Corder, which was made in 1976, we were definitely rocking similar technology - recording from CDs and other cassette tapes onto a cassette tape and sometimes, if we were feeling especially into it, recording personal jokes between songs.

Last night Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates delivered his annual speech to open 2007's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas - showing off his usual hair-do and some exciting insight as to what lies ahead this year in electronics.
His speech touched on ways to link computers and the other hardware people use to play music and movies - and not just handheld devices. He showed off a new technology called Sync, to be built into a dozen Ford vehicles this year, that would connect music, address books and cellphone ring tones with the car stereo.
