Flip Updates Its Ultra HD and Mino Camcorders

Last week, HP unveiled a new pocket camcorder to add to the already crowded space, and now pocket cam pioneer Flip is updating its line of offerings. Both the UltraHD and MinoHD camcorders are new and improved, featuring enhanced HD shooting (including image stabilization, which was noticeably missing from past models), more personalization options, and an enhanced version of FlipShare, the program used to import and edit Flip videos on your computer.

Updated models include the UltraHD 1- and 2-hour camcorders, as well as the MinoHD 1- and 2-hour camcorders; get all the details and check out more images of the newest Flips after the jump.

Cisco Makes the Flip SlideHD Official

Since the Flip SlideHD was preemptively put on the shelves at Best Buy last week, we've all been waiting to see when Cisco would come on out and announce the SlideHD. Resembling a mini Nintendo DS Lite, the Flip SlideHD got official yesterday with a press release that detailed the new touchscreen-enabled pocket cam's specs.

Coming with 12 hours of video storage and four hours of recording time, the SlideHD lets you record and instantly play back your videos on its slide-out 3-inch touchscreen display. The mini camcorder comes with 16GB of internal memory, a two-hour battery span, 2x digital zoom, and video recording in high def resolution (1280x720) at 30 frames per second. Plus, you can customize your SlideHD with different artist skins, your own photography, or don a generated pattern to give your Flip some flair. As you already know, the Flip SlideHD is available online and in stores now, and comes with a $280 price tag.

Tech Spotting at the 2010 Winter Games Closing Ceremony

Even when I'm not completely paying attention to tech on TV, it pops up everywhere. Take last night's Olympic closing ceremonies: between the athletes and the performers, there were a ton of gadgets on the floor. First I noticed the Canadian performers dressed as snowboarders had white earbuds in their ears. I'm not sure if these were functional or just props to make them look more like snowboarders, but regardless, the earbuds added a cute touch to their all-white outfits. Then I noticed American hockey player Ryan Miller taking video of the ceremony with his iPhone 3GS. Finally, I spotted these pictures of gold medalist skier Lindsey Vonn using her Flip camera to capture the action during the closing ceremony.
