June was a big month for new gadgets and tech toys, but don't fret, there's plenty of drool-worthy items to go around. My top picks for this month can either be given as gifts, be added to early Christmas wishlists, or make the perfect splurge purchase! And did I mention that they are all fresh for Summer? So what are you waiting for? Time to assess the gadget goods!

The New Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drive

Looks may be deceiving, but don't be fooled: I promise this is a sexier and sleeker version of the eGo drive I reviewed last year.

This much lighter, third generation, 320GB drive offers built-in antivirus software and an impressive rugged aluminum exterior that can withstand a 1.3 meter drop, which you know as well as I do is very important when you're lugging around a device that holds your important data.

Online, this puppy will cost you around $95, which is pretty affordable, considering I've heard of similar devices going for upwards of $150.

After a few months of use, I had some issues with my first eGo drive, so I was pleased to hear Iomega is offering a three-year warranty on the third gen drives. What really irks me, though, is that these drives are primarily built for PCs, not Macs. The included USB cord comes with a cord to plug into your drive and two attached USB cords to plug into your laptop. On many Macs, there are two USB ports (on opposite sides of the laptop), so plugging in both cords is practically impossible. Although your drive may be able to run with only one USB cord plugged in, it isn't sufficient power to experience the high-speed data transfer rates. And sadly, a powered USB bus isn't included, even though there is an auxiliary power port for it. So if you really want to use it on your Mac, you'd have to invest in one.

This is the midnight blue version, but it is also available in red, silver, and black. With the noteworthy upgrades from the last eGo, I think this eGo is worthy of four stars.

View 4 Photos ›

Flask Style Pink Portable Hard Drive by Iomega

You may remember this pink eGo portable hard drive by Iomega from my Must Haves list for February, but because it's so darn cute, and because of all the backing up talk last week, I knew I had to elaborate a bit more on its awesomeness!

To put into perspective how much this beauty of a hard drive can hold, picture this: 640,000 photos, over 2,900 hours of music and 240 hours of video, for a total capacity of 160GB -yes, it's a decent size! The eGo is USB powered so you don't need to drag around an external power supply and it features drop guard for added protection if it were to ever fall off a desk or table.

The eGo hard drive can be used with Macs or PCs and costs only $100. Check out the gallery below to see just how pretty it really is!

No, this is not your typical Valentine's Day inspired laptop cover. These Tulip Ego Heart laptops by Ego Lifestyle are in fact actual laptops! I almost wish it were a cute handbag that your laptop could fit in. The one on the left with the red ribbon and silver heart charm is so exquisite! As cute as they are, I don't think I'll be rushing off to Barneys to drop $5,000 on one anytime soon.
Great Geek Gear Find: Ego Waterproof Sound Case

Thanks to TeamSugar user Gibby for joining me in one of our weekly early morning chats and also for letting us know about a new wet n' wild iPod accessory - the waterproof sound case by Ego. Gibby already has a waterproof iPod case which she loves to use in the shower, but has her sights set on getting this model, probably for using in her pool! It does have alot of great features including: a compact shatterproof body, high powered speakers, a shock-absorbing compartment for your iPod and it even floats in water! Unfortunately we can't run to the stores just yet to pick one up, as it was only unveiled a couple of weeks ago at CES.

To learn how to contribute your own tech finds to my Geek Gear list, click here.

The PSP 3000: Purple, Pink and Turquoise All Over

Don't get me wrong, I love color, so the fact that Sony is coming out with a PSP 3000 in pink and turquoise this November, I feel like they've somewhat redeemed themselves. I'll let the pink slide on this one, but the turquoise? Perfection, and it will be available in a LittleBigPlanet bundle. . . total perfection. Are you liking the new colors?

The First Hip-Hop Track About Coder Girls (Probably)

Congrats ladies, it looks like we geeks are spreading the gospel of the chicness of our proclivities - there's even a book preaching it to other girls not yet versed in the ways.

And for an extra ego boost, you've got to hear "Coder Girls," a jam in which the admiring man raps "Wanna get in where I fit in like a plug-in." It'll be your Summer jam, for sure.
