File Away Your Dreams With This DOS Directories Pillow

Before I even saw these pillows I knew that I'd love them considering they were designed by the Art Lebedev Studio - the same artistic genius behind the adorable byte-sized Babushka dolls. Embroidered with DOS directories, these Dosugus cushions will certainly bring any geek back in time, to the days before Windows (yes, computer life existed before then). And not only that, but for $36, they will also file away all your dreams on your C: directory!

Google Task Lists Can Now Be Shared

I think similar to my email, my Gmail tasks list needs to be gone through so I can delete some of my old to-dos! Everything from travel memos, to daily lists and reminders, my tasks certainly help to keep me organized!

Being able to move items to different lists is a great help, but now I can email a list to friends with Google's new email task list option in the Actions menu.

So now if you're planning a party and your friends want to help with all of the preparations, you can easily send them the party planning list!

New GCal Tasks in Action

The other day, I briefly mentioned how Google was rolling out task list functionality within Google Calendar. Today when I opened my GCal, what beautiful option appeared? It was a lovely task link for keeping my to-dos and calendar items in one spot. Now you have the ability to conveniently manage your to-dos in your Gmail account as well as in your Calendar - I guess this means I am one step closer to kissing Remember the Milk goodbye.

What's great about GCal Tasks is that you can enter items that have due dates, and they will automatically show up in your calendar. When a task is finished, you can click its check box and you can sort tasks by due date under the Actions menu at the bottom of the list. Tasks are draggable and droppable, just like items in your GCal.

Website of The Day: DIY Planner

There's just something about actually writing down your to-dos that makes you get 'em done. I admit - as much as I tout the joys of using my iPhone to list what I have to do during my day, I always find that I remember more when I'm physically writing them down on a piece of paper. So if you are also a fan of low-tech methods to help you get things done, then check out DIY Planner.

DIY Planner is your one-stop shop for free downloadable and printable to-do lists, exercise logs, budget planners, and the like; plus, you can find tips to making your own planners and productivity templates. You can still get your digital fix (by going online and downloading your planner) while still getting that fulfillment of checking things off your list the trusty old analog way - with a pen and paper.

Geek Tip: Use Sandy as a Personal Assistant

Ever envy celebrities for their handlers and personal assistants who keep track of their schedules and appointments? Maybe you need Sandy, a free, virtual personal assistant that keeps you up to date, organized, and on track. You program the service to remind you when to move your car, go to yoga, or call a friend back by emailing Sandy at a special email address.

All you have to do is keep Sandy up to date with your appointments, to-dos, and contacts, and she will send you messages with attachments you can click to add to your calendar, to-do list, or address book. You can receive reminders by email to your BlackBerry, Palm, iPhone, or via a text on your cell phone. The service is comparable to Backpack It, but requires less set up.

Totally Geeky or Geek Chic? Online Virtual Weddings

Could you imagine attending a wedding online? With so many couples finding love online these days, it's no shocker that there are actually wedding ceremonies which allow "virtual vows." This year's Fan Faire in Las Vegas will host the first-ever live and virtual wedding ceremony for a couple who are huge fans of the video game EverQuest II. During the ceremony they will both simultaneously exchange live and virtual vows through their EverQuest II avatars via computers, which will just so happen to be joining them at the altar. Trendhunter, says it just isn’t enough for the couple to exchange "I do’s" in the real world, because then their virtual pals would be missing out. What are your thoughts on this? Over the top geeky or kinda geek chic? Leave your comments below!Image Source
