Cell phone use causing cancer — certainly not something we haven't heard before and not something that is going away anytime soon. First we learn that the electromagnetic radiation from cell phones doesn't cause cancer and when I asked you if you were worried about your cell phone increasing your risk of getting cancer, most of you said no.

These days, I'm not so worried about people gossiping about me to their friends, but more like the entire world on their blog. Not that I ever do anything worth blogging about of course, but still, the threat of being called out online is bigger and scarier than anything the town gossip can say to their friends on the bus ride home. Especially in the world of dating, being a subject for your dates' followers may just make a girl not want to go out at all.

Isn't the threaded conversations feature in Gmail the best? Rather than having a gazillion emails with the same person, you can have them all in one handy spot. Yeah, it's great.

I love learning simple tips and tricks for my iPhone — even if they're things I feel I should have known! File this tip under "Things I wish I knew months ago."
Whether you're reading a ton of emails, in the middle of a very long text conversation or just deeply involved browsing apps, sometimes you find yourself at the bottom of a page having to scroll up, up, up to the top.

I love a good set of online tools on a website, especially when it's coupled with another one of my favorite things: shopping. I'm especially loving the instant gratification of the design-your-own sneakers tools from some favorite brand-name shoe companies: Nike, Puma, Converse, and Keds all offer a customization option for a few of their classic sneaker designs.
Though the tools vary by site, essentially you can click on different sections of the shoe: interior, left side, right side, details, laces — and choose a color or print for each section.

I'll admit it: technology has made the early stages of dating a lot easier. For instance, you no longer have to work up the nerve to call a guy you're into — just fire off a witty text message or IM and avoid awkward pauses on the phone altogether! It's a lot easier to type out something you might have trouble expressing in a face-to-face situation.

Who will the digital conversion negatively affect? Largely, the elderly. Thankfully there's a PSA instructing them what to do, featuring the most adorable little old lady this side of the Mississippi.

I was out with a group of girlfriends last week when one of them received a text from a guy she'd gone on a few dates with. It read, "Great time last night ;)" — with the winking emoticon. Apparently after every single text he sends (and sometimes midtext, too), he includes an emoticon.

This morning I was making plans with friends via email, and after reading through our short exchange, I realized I was the only one not to include an email signature. At work, I use a signature that includes my name, title, and email address. I don't include one in my personal email at all (which according to this post on decoding email signatures, makes me cool).
