If you're a Kindle owner, you also need a good cover to encase that bad boy. The first Kindle came with a gray suede folding case, but it was a bit lacking in pizzazz, while the Kindle 2 doesn't come with any case — which is as good an excuse to shop as any. And the new Kindle DX, big as it is, isn't left out in the cold either.

Forget the water cooler, all anyone talked about this week all over my workplace was the swine flu epidemic. You'd think that reading tech blogs all day, I'd have some sort of reprieve, but that was not the case at all.
In fact, tech and the swine flu were tightly associated, from an iPhone app that tracks the flu, a website that tracks it, and a Google Maps mashup that tracks it.

If your office building is old (like mine), and you are nowhere near those old-school radiator heaters that line the walls (like me), and the windows are not exactly "double-paned" to keep the heat in (you know it), there's a good chance you will be f-f-f-freezing come Winter. So what can you do, other than huddle by the heat of your desktop? Get some USB Heated Gloves, that's what.

A lot of people don't like modern because it can be cold, but sometimes when it is that means it's really, really cool.
Such is the case with DWR's Aluminum Mouse Pad ($35), which is spare, striking and literally cold to the touch (except for the felt wrist rest, natch).
It may lack a certain patterned flair of say, a Marimekko mouse pad, but if you're edging away from using mouse pads because of their Office Space-type looks, then this version might work great for your own fabulous office space.

Little known fact, today is national Embrace Your Geekiness Day. That's right people, it's one day of the year we geeks are told to embrace all the character traits that make us so special. I'm talking about those gadget-loving, internet-sleuthing, all knowing qualities.
