DIY: Atomic Ball Clock

Here's a post from OnSugar blog Just 5 More Minutes:

I decided that our Airstream trailer needed an atomic ball clock and since I've been itching to get crafty, I thought I'd give it a try and make one myself. As soon as the trailer makes its way home (it's currently enroute from LA) I'll post pictures of this clock inside of it.

All I needed was:

12 styrofoam balls
12 wooden skewers
1 styrofoam disk
Hot glue gun
Kitchen scissors
Paint
Pretty card stock paper for the face of the clock
Embellishments for the edges of the clock
And of course, a clock mechanism

The whole project cost less than $20.

Geek Clock: Love It or Leave It?

I couldn't help but giggle when I saw the Geek Clock ($25). This novelty wall clock includes an equation or equally geeky symbol for each number on the face of the clock. My favorite: 3! for the number six (three factorial; 3 x 2 x1 = 6). Its retail page on Uncommon Goods contains a "cheat sheet" to understanding each number - a similar sheet is included with each clock. I think this clock is a funny conversation piece and the perfect gift for a true geek! What do you think?

Found It! Trompe-l'œil Grandfather Clock

I spotted this photo in the portfolio of photographer Joanna Henderson and I'm absolutely in love with it. Not only is the light beautiful, but the space couldn't be any more understatedly elegant. The trompe-l'œil grandfather clock is simply great for that white wall, and it pairs perfectly with those bentwood chairs. The little floor lantern gives this antiquey corner a bit of Eastern flair, and the horse print is so sweetly styled. But back to the clock - it looks familiar, doesn't it?
