Desperate Housewives on Set With Their Cell Phones

Looks like someone is certainly going to the chapel on the upcoming season of Desperate Housewives! Will it be Susan or Katherine?!

Between takes on set this week, Teri Hatcher, and Dana Delany were spotted killing time with each other and their cell phones - Teri with a BlackBerry Bold and Dana with a white iPhone 3GS. Now I've already managed to track Katherine's tech habits on the show (she's the one with the Centro smartphone and Bluetooth headset) and I've managed to catch Susan getting pulled over for not going hands-free, but it's refreshing to see them off camera as well with their favorite handsets!

Mariah Rockin' a Nokia N97 in Her New Music Video

After checking out some photos of Mariah Carey on the set of her new music video for "Obsession" (I promise that's her), I thought, wait a minute. . . is that an iPhone 3GS she's holding onto? As I zoomed way waaay in, I realized it was a Nokia - an N97 to be exact. Closely resembling the 5800 XpressMusic smartphone, this handset (which still has yet to reach US stores) offers a QWERTY keyboard, an impressive 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 and an FM transmitter. Unfortunately it's only getting ho hum reviews so far, so it'll be interesting to see what its reception is once it's released here.

Samsung's Instinct Will Cost You a Pretty Penny at Best Buy

One of Samsung's most popular handsets, the Instinct, will soon be coming to Best Buy - in the pink version. Sweet, right? The only catch is it will cost $599, which is insane in my opinion.

So it does have a touchscreen, a 2-megapixel digital camera, Bluetooth compatibility, and is stylin', but that doesn't explain the hefty price tag. The 8GB iPhone 3G is only $189 at Best Buy, so the math doesn't add up on this one. Just sayin'. Would you pay $599 for this phone?

Retro Cell Phone Handsets: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

Imagine the kind of stares you would get while walking down the street, using this handset to chat to a friend?! OK, so maybe for general public use this Please Hold Cell Phone Handset is a no-go, but what about at home when you don't really feel like holding your cell to your head? So they may look a bit goofy, but they are also so retro-chic - it's time to mix the old with the new!

The Please Hold handset is compatible with a slew of phones and is available in fun colors like kit kat black, poodle white, bubble gum pink, or ferrari red, with a matching coiled cord. Each are priced at $15. I must say that they are much more geek chic then the freakish mini bluetooth headsets! What do you think?

Jenny's New Cell Phone on Gossip Girl: HTC-tastic

Since it looks like pretty much every single character on Gossip Girl got a new cell phone for Season Two, I thought some of you might be curious about what your favorite Upper East Siders are carrying since you've been back into this season's tech quizzes! Last week I told you Blair had a new maroon eNV2, and this week my gaze is fixed on the budding couturier, Jenny Humphrey.

Jenny used to have a pink RAZR - which I think fit her really well - but it looks like she's picking up some tech fashion steam with her internship. Not only has Jenny upgraded, but she's gone with the handset maker of the moment: HTC! HTC, you'll recall, is the maker of Google's new Android phone, the G1, and though Jenny couldn't get that (girlfriend's on Verizon), she went with the same color we usually see the G1 in: White. I myself am a huge fan of white cell phones and gadgets, and particularly this phone: The HTC Touch.

Available on Verizon for $200 after discounts, the Touch is a smartphone with a touch screen, music player, QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, and you get access to an application store.

Geekish or Freakish? Bluetooth Mini Phone

Now this is an interesting concept which I spotted on GeekAlerts. Wear a retro phone handset around your neck and use it as a your bluetooth handheld for your cell phone. Yes with the $70 bluetooth mini phone lanyard you can answer calls from your cell via the tiny one by pressing the call button. I'm gonna vote freakish on this one and suggest a possible douchebag vote as well. What are your thoughts?

HTC to Unveil the Touch Diamond Tomorrow?

HTC is gearing up for a big announcement on Tuesday, and rumor has it that the unveiling may include the Touch Diamond handset. Pictures and a rundown of specs have already surfaced on the internet, and I must say, it's sounding pretty hot. With 4GB internal flash, a microSD slot, eGPS, WiFi, a FM tuner, Bluetooth and a sleek 2.8-inch VGA display, this phone is certainly a lovely piece of technology, if it is in fact real.

Well I've just touched down in London, as HTC has invited me to the "big reveal," so I'll be right in the heart of all the action. Can't wait to see if this is going to be the VGA Touchscreen everyone has been talking about . . . Be sure to stay tuned for all my updates from the event!

A couple of weeks ago, I gave you a sneak preview of the LG Scoop, which recently made the switch from Sprint to Alltel Wireless. After seeing this close-up shot on
Electronista, I've decided that it's going to be a popular little handset. With a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel camera, bluetooth and Alltel’s Axcess Voice2TXT, this phone is going to get "scooped-up" fast (hee hee) with so many great features. It also comes in other colors like orange and black, but this blue is really calling my name.
