Best of 2008 Winner: Favorite New Video Game

What isn't there to love about your favorite game of 2008, Wii Fit? It's been proven to amp up your fitness level, and even help you become more flexible and shed pounds in the process. And although I can't deny the benefits of Wii Fit, I'm going to have to stray away from the pack here and give my 2008 Sugar Award to Fable II.

Not only was I completely obsessed with this RPG the second it hit my Xbox 360, but I continued to be obsessed with Fable II long after I finished the game. The open-world play, moral dilemmas, and awesome fighting sequences is what kept me coming back for more. . . and what makes me want to play it all over again. Plus, with over 350,000 copies being sold on launch day alone, I'm guessing there are more than a few of you out there that agree with me!

Best of 2008 Winner: Favorite New Gadget

Applause, please! Not only has the iPhone 3G already won Favorite Cell Phone of 2008, geeksugar readers have bestowed yet another Best of 2008 win: Favorite New Gadget of 2008!

Are you going to make me say it? Alright, twist my arm: It's also my favorite new gadget of the year. Because of it, I don't get lost, I know what movies are playing at any time, I can find out songs that are playing . . . the list goes on, people.

With 33 percent of the vote, it bested other splashy entries like the Wii Fit and the MacBook Air. Did this surprise you at all? Considering it only debuted six months ago, it's shaping up to be the year of the iPhone 3G.

2008 was a great year for movies, especially for me since tech is becoming more and more prominently featured. A number of the leading ladies in my favorite flicks from this year embraced their cell phone as the chic accessory that it is - or can be, when you pick the one that matches you. Biggest Headlines of 2008: Cell Phone Mania

If you weren't standing in line for days to get your hands on the new iPhone 3G earlier this year, then you were probably patiently waiting for one of the other big headline-making releases including Blackberry's Storm and Bold, HTC's Touch Diamond, or possibly T-Mobile's G1.

Cell phones seemed to be the coveted tech item this year, as more and more useful and fun features get crammed into these little packages - which end up being your lifeline for everything from finding your way to a new restaurant to streaming Internet radio over your WiFi connection. Needless to say, I can't wait to see what new technology will come next in 2009!

Best of 2008 Winner: Favorite BlackBerry Obsessed Celeb

Well you definitely "Baracked The Vote" on this one! With ten other contestants to contend with, President-elect Barack Obama managed to pull through with 39 percent of the vote - making him 2008's Favorite BlackBerry-Obsessed Celeb!

No surprises there. Especially since his love for his BlackBerry was a very hot topic this year, so much so that he even discussed his CrackBerry addiction with Barbara Walters. Yes, he definitely deserves this award!

Best of 2008 Winner: Favorite Luxury Gadget Accessory

Where would we be without a little fantasy? They're the anti-necessity, but I love to look at luxurious accessories, whether I could ever afford them or not.

I had a lot of faves this year, but my absolute fave coincides with your pick for favorite luxury gadget accessory of 2008!

The good looks of YSL's Downtown Computer Case beat the competition with 28 percent. It still hasn't come down from its $1,800 price point, so it'll remain an image on a screen for me. A very sexy image on a screen.

It was a close race for Favorite Geeky Jewelry Piece of 2008, but we have a winner: the Periodic Table Rings!

Looks like geeky rings were big in general - these just barely edged out the Binary Rings with 33 percent of the vote. The Periodic Rings may not be engagement-worthy, but any chemistry geek would be very happy with this bling.

It came as no surprise that the iPhone 3G takes the top spot as your favorite cell phone of 2008 (with 51 percent of the vote!), given that it was also your favorite new Apple product this year as well. And let's be honest - it's a known fact that I am a iPhone fan, so I'd have to agree with you that the iPhone 3G is the clear favorite in 2008.

You can't really go wrong with the iPhone's speedy 3G connectivity, and endless amounts of Apps that help make your life easier, more fun, and get you to where you need to go faster. I know that if I didn't have my iPhone, it would be like missing a limb, and then where would we be?!

Best of 2008 Winner: Favorite New Google Feature

Gmail had a banner year in 2008 - but really, when have they not? I would have thought that in their big year - whose crowning glory was the release of T-mobile's Android-outfitted G1 - you guys would have found a favorite in the first Google cell phone.

However, like Google itself, you kept it simple, and voted the new Gmail Themes as your favorite new Google feature!

With 32 percent of the vote, it ousted heavy hitters like the brand-new G1 and the new Chrome browser. They impressed me as well - Gmail Themes are also my pick for favorite new Google feature!
