Are You Disappointed the President Doesn't Write His Tweets?

While traveling in China, President Obama spoke to a group of students in Shanghai, where one of the students asked if he believed people in China should have access to Twitter. (The service has been blocked in China since July). He responded,

"I have never used Twitter but I'm an advocate of technology and not restricting internet access."

With over 2.5 million followers and counting, President Obama is one of the most popular users. New tweets are posted nearly every day, with multiple posts added during important events like House votes or special initiatives. Although the President admitted he doesn't write the tweets himself, he presumably has someone on his staff updating his feed with regularity. With a major to-do list and one of the most high-profile jobs in the world, I'm not surprised the president isn't using Twitter on his own (though I'm sure he could add a Twitter app to his much-loved BlackBerry). What about you?

In San Francisco, the weather can be hmm . . . how do I say . . . so up and down that I really do depend on my daily cell phone weather forecast deliveries to know what the heck I should wear each day! I like Umbrella Today because it texts me whenever I need to take an umbrella to work with me, but I also like Sleeves, since it says if I need to wear a long-sleeved shirt, a t-shirt, or if I can go sleeveless!

Well I think I've found one that tops em' all. With Obama Weather, you just enter your zip, and there's our cute President Barack Obama showing you a full weather forecast, and the most appropriate attire to wear each day! I'm loving it!

The winner of our favorite BlackBerry-obsessed celeb in 2008, President Barack Obama - who was hopeful he'd be able to keep his BlackBerry in the White House - was photographed with none other than his beloved smartphone last week before his healthcare reform speech at the University of Maryland.

We haven't seen him with his BB in a while, and when he didn't appear to have it on his first day in the Oval Office, we thought the BlackBerry had gone bye-bye. Although we did learn later that he'd be able to keep it for personal use, so maybe he was checking in with Sasha to see if she took Bo for his walk?

In case you missed it, President Obama spoke directly to school children last week, asking them to stay in school and study up for the future. I thought the speech was inspiring, but he did kind of diss my beloved video games. Obama asked the youth of America to not "spend every waking hour in front of the TV or with the Xbox." This could be sound advice, except for the fact that there are plenty of brain-challenging games out there to improve your coordination, smarts, and problem-solving skills. President Obama Pokes Fun at a Ringtone

This is hilarious. In a recent presidential press conference, someone's cell phone started ringing, and it wasn't your standard "bring bring" but a duck quacking sound. Not even the president of the United States of America is impervious to annoying cell phone ringtones! I don't know what's funnier: the ringtone itself or his reaction?! Let's just hope that the person who was humiliated is getting used to the silent and vibrate cell phone settings.

The White House Is Filled With BlackBerrys, iPod Docks

This week, I watched NBC's fascinating two-part Inside the Obama White House special, where news correspondent Brian Williams took viewers on a candid tour of the West Wing - kinda like a day in the life of the Obama administration. Aside from learning about the abundance of freshly picked apples and bowls of candy in every room, Obama's favorite cell phone - the BlackBerry of course - was spotted in the hands of almost every administration employee. There are also many iPods and iPod docks, as employees are encouraged to listen to music while working. Out with the old and in with the new!
