Two words for you: Bacon Brownies. That's the kind of stuff you'll find on Bacon Today, a website concerned with giving you all the bacon content you can possibly handle.

Are you up to it? Maybe you need to know about your local bacon events, or how bacon is affecting the economy? I don't eat bacon myself, but for bacon enthusiasts it's all here.

Click the pink "Share" menu on the top left side of the page.
Choose "Blog" and “Regular Post.”
Give your story a “Title.”
Fill in the “Body” with a link to your favorite website and the reasons why you love it.
Click “Next."
Choose the audience for your story to “Website of the Day” in the drop-down menu
Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Website of the Day").
Change channel to “Technology and Gadgets.”
Fill in tag field with relevant tags.
Click “I’m done” to submit content.

David Beckham Gets a Pile of Presents and an English Breakfast on His 37th!

David Beckham is 37 today, and his family pulled out all the stops! His sons cooked him a semitraditional English breakfast of eggs, bacon, and sausage. It was then time for David to open his presents, which was no small task. David shared another image of himself surrounded by presents, with a Jo Malone candle burning in the background. All the presents were even wrapped the same! The largest gift turned out to be a framed Magic Johnson Lakers jersey, which David dubbed the "best birthday present ever!" It was an appropriate gift for basketball superfan David. In fact, last night, he and Victoria Beckham got a jump on the celebrating as they watched the Lakers beat the Nuggets with his mom, Sandra, and sister Joanne. Victoria and David even appeared on the Kiss Cam! David was appreciative of all the love. He wrote on his Facebook wall, "Thank you to my amazing family for making my birthday so special!"

Perfectly coddled eggs and ham on an English muffin: what's not to like? Although a grand breakfast like eggs Benedict might usually be reserved for weekends, we've happened upon National Eggs Benedict Day, so there's no excuse not to eat the country's favorite brunch item at just about any hour today.

Before you get started poaching your own eggs, however, take a look at the variations you might want to take on for this American classic.

Eggs Florentine: poached eggs and spinach atop an English muffin with hollandaise sauce.
Eggs Royale: poached eggs and smoked salmon atop an English muffin with hollandaise sauce.
Eggs Blackstone: poached eggs, side bacon (that'd be the type most commonly seen in America), and a tomato slice atop an English muffin with hollandaise sauce.
Eggs Sardou: poached eggs and creamed spinach atop artichoke bottoms with hollandaise sauce; a specialty of New Orleans.
Eggs Provençal: poached eggs and ham atop an English muffin, served with béarnaise sauce in place of hollandaise.
Eggs Beauregard: fried eggs and sausage patties atop an American biscuit, served with country gravy in lieu of hollandaise sauce.

13 Foods For Freaky Friday

In honor of Freaky Friday (today's Friday the 13th!), I thought I'd pull together a list of 13 freaky foods. Even if you don't have triskaidekaphobia (the fear of the number 13), you may be afraid of some of the things on this list. I know there are a bunch of other freaky things out there (how about almost anything Andrew Zimmern eats on his show?), so if you think something's missing, we want to hear it.

#13: Bubble Tea
I personally love this stuff; however, I've known quite a few folks who are freaked out by the tapioca inside of the tea. Come to think of it, I know a lot of people freaked out by tapioca in general . . .
#12: Squid ink pasta
I don't have a problem with this lovely pasta dyed with squid ink, but some find eating black pasta to be just a bit too freaky.

HBO's Girls Premieres With Creator Lena Dunham, Producer Judd Apatow, and Famous Fans

HBO's new series Girls premiered at the School of Visual Arts Theater in NYC. The series is the brainchild of Lena Dunham, whose first big movie Tiny Furniture debuted in 2010. The film caught the eye of Judd Apatow, who reached out to Lena to see if she needed help with any projects. Their friendship helped bring Girls to TV, and Judd worked closely with Lena on the 10 episodes of the first season. The program centers around the friendships of four ladies living in NYC, and the plot has raised some inevitable comparisons to HBO's other landmark series about Big Apple women - Sex and the City. Girls, though, is a grittier look at the lives of 20-somethings and the mistakes they make, both personally and professionally.

Lena also stars in the show, along with Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, and Jemima Kirke. Plenty of famous friends came out to support the cast, including a Preen-clad Claire Danes, Kyra Sedgwick, and Kevin Bacon. Allison, whose father is NBC's Brian Williams, wore a gorgeous white Donna Karan dress and Kwiat jewels. Zosia also has a well-known dad, writer David Mamet, and Jemima's father was in the band Bad Company! Brian and his wife Jane swung by the afterparty at the Standard Hotel.

Lena spoke to us last night about when Judd first reached out to her. She said, "I thought that it was a prank when Judd first got in touch with me. I thought my friend Isabel was emailing me using this weird technology that lets you pretend your email address is someone else's email address!" We've got a new partnership with Padma Lakshmi! The host of the Emmy-winning Top Chef, writer, and designer started Padma Lakshmi, a social networking site that celebrates our favorite topics, including food adventures, recipes, and party planning. She'll be dishing up goodies for us here on YumSugar monthly. Today, Padma sings the virtues of a lesser-known condiment: homemade chili honey butter.

Chili . . . honey . . . butter. Need I say more?
