Earlier this week I shared some of my hot gadget predictions for 2008, some of which were utterly foreseeable (for example the success and hype around the wireless Kindle reader is bound to make eReaders a heavily replicated device) and some were more hopeful (please, please let there be more flash based personal media players!). I want to know: What gadget and technological innovations are you looking forward to in the coming year?
What Are You Looking Forward To in 2008?
Aside from the usual go to the gym more, eat more fruits and veggies and get more sleep New Year's resolutions, I've also got a long list of tech resolutions that I'm hoping to achieve in '08. First thing's first. .
After wrapping-up our best of 2007 polls, I've realized that the past twelve months have been filled with incredible new devices, websites, applications, video games and software. Apple proved to be the ultimate mover and shaker in the tech industry with the innovative iPhone, Apple TV, the new MacBook Pro, the widescreen Nano, and the iPod Touch. .
Wondering what's going to be hot and not-so-hot in the upcoming year? Here are some of my gadget predictions for 2008!
OLED Televisions: Surprisingly OLED TV's weren't overly popular in 2007, even though they created quite the buzz with their super-slim design, energy saving technology, and exceptional screen quality.
I can't say I'm surprised that thirty-eight percent of you agreed that the iPhone 3G was your favorite new Apple product of 2008. I have also selected this sexy smartphone as my number one new Apple gadget of 2008; making it well-deserving of a 2008 Sugar Award.
With GPS access, 3G wireless technology, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the ability to download cool apps from the iTunes App Store, it's no wonder why Apple's latest iPhone caused such a stir this year!
What isn't there to love about your favorite game of 2008, Wii Fit? It's been proven to amp up your fitness level, and even help you become more flexible and shed pounds in the process. And although I can't deny the benefits of Wii Fit, I'm going to have to stray away from the pack here and give my 2008 Sugar Award to Fable II.
Applause, please! Not only has the iPhone 3G already won Favorite Cell Phone of 2008, geeksugar readers have bestowed yet another Best of 2008 win: Favorite New Gadget of 2008!
Are you going to make me say it?
It came as no surprise that the iPhone 3G takes the top spot as your favorite cell phone of 2008 (with 51 percent of the vote!), given that it was also your favorite new Apple product this year as well. And let's be honest — it's a known fact that I am a iPhone fan, so I'd have to agree with you that the iPhone 3G is the clear favorite in 2008.
You can't really go wrong with the iPhone's speedy 3G connectivity, and endless amounts of Apps that help make your life easier, more fun, and get you to where you need to go faster.
Those Upper East Siders didn't upgrade for nothing this year — Gossip Girl sailed ahead of the competition to win Favorite TV Tech Show of 2008.
The scandalous show won with 39 percent of the vote, so I guess you guys must like taking my tech quizzes as much as I like making them.
And now it's time to admit it: Gossip Girl is also my favorite TV Tech show of 2008!
