Leather Laptop Backpack: Love It or Leave It?

Do my eyes deceive me? Could it be . . . an exceptionally chic laptop backpack? Kenneth Cole's leather Case-adilla not only has a clever name, fine-grain beautiful brown leather, it's also convertible, should you need to remove it from your back.

I've seen laptop backpacks before, but usually from a utility standpoint — manufacturers haven't really mixed "chic" with "backpack" before — until now, that is. Not to mention that it's totally unisex. What's your take on the laptop backpack?

Do Want! I am small, and even tho my laptop is a small version, the bags I have are bulky and hard on my one shoulder. A laptop backpack would work in my favor. I've seen some that I wouldn't mind using if they weren't so big and dorky, so I have to say that this is the first one I would love to tote around! Definitely geek chic.

I bet it would be more comfortable, but it's not really that attractive. I mean, it's better than the normal ones, but still not enough to make me ditch my shoulder bag.

I always have fear of putting something valuable behind me, seems a bit too unsafe...

I think it looks a little cheap, the straps look like a total after thought.

I think it's impractical. My husband had a really nice brown leather laptop bag/backpack much like these, and it was really expensive. And it was very uncomfortable. The straps broke off after less than a year, and I honestly think it's because leather doesn't expand and handle weight quite the same way that modern synthetic fabrics do.

I'm all about the convertible bag, but I don't dig the big handle that sticks out the side when you wear it as a backpack.

love it but its too expensive. I'd rather invest on a small but light laptop and get an ordinary laptop bag

I love it, but it seems very masculine to me. I'd definitely like to see a guy carrying this around.
