The Anti-Loneliness Ramen Bowl: Love It or Leave It?

College students, young startup kids, and single city-dwellers slurping their way through life, one ramen pack at a time, can look forward to dinner that's a little less lonely.

College students, young startup kids, and single city-dwellers slurping their way through life, one ramen pack at a time, can look forward to dinner that's a little less lonely.

The folks at MisoSoupDesign have invented a hybrid device we didn't even know we needed: an eating vessel with a built-in iPhone dock. Meet the Anti-Loneliness Ramen Bowl, which props up an iPhone as you're comforted by soupy goodness.

Hybrids are the future, but we're a little baffled by this dine-and-device gizmo. Is the Anti-Loneliness Ramen Bowl completely genius or kind of . . . sad? It seems like a potentially dangerous situation with hot broth and smartphone in such close proximity. But, on the other hand, the bowl/dock offers a seamless eating and viewing experience that, well, no other bowl can.

We don't know much about the high-tech ramen bowl yet — just that MisoSoupDesign is accepting a limited number of preorders via email (info@misosoupdesign.com) and the bowls will be available in late Spring. No word on the retail price, but we want to know, ramen lovers: love it or leave it?

Microsoft's New Wedge Mouse and Limited-Edition Touch Covers

Today, Microsoft announced two new additions to the Surface family — a collection of limited-edition Touch Covers designed by guest artists and a new Wedge Touch Mouse created specifically for the Surface RT and Pro tablets. Both accessories are up for grabs starting Feb. 9, the same day the Surface Pro hits shelves.

The Touch Cover Limited Edition Collection ($130) adds some personal style to the Surface, with custom laser-etched designs created by three very different artists. The covers will be available in red, magenta, or cyan and, like the normal Touch Cover, feature a smooth touch-sensitive keyboard, built-in trackpad, and open-to-wake, close-to-sleep functionality.

To enhance the Surface laptop experience even further, Microsoft also introduced a Wedge Touch Mouse ($70), a wireless mouse that looks and feels like the Surface's VaporMg casing and features four-way touch scrolling for easy navigation.

Take a look at Microsoft's newest accessories for the Surface tablets, and let us know if the latest offerings make you more (or less) inclined to pick up one of the Windows 8 tablet-laptop hybrids.

Go Wireless With Adapt, the Bluetooth Headphone Adapter

We've seen a lot of wireless doodads in our day, but none cut the cord quite like Outdoor Tech's Adapt ($40).

We've seen a lot of wireless doodads in our day, but none cut the cord quite like Outdoor Tech's Adapt ($40). The Bluetooth-enabled adapter with a built-in mic clips on to clothing and lets you talk on the phone or listen to music from a Bluetooth device up to 30 feet away.

Sure, you're still wired to the device through your headphones, but Adapt lets you stash your device in a safe place, like an enclosed backpack pocket, while you're using headphones — perfect for hitting the slopes or going out for a bike ride. Avid teleconferencers can also use the adapter to set down their smartphones, take a call, and walk away (well, up to 30 feet).

Amazon user Win even suggested that the Adapt can be used to add Bluetooth functionality to a car stereo by connecting the device to a car's auxiliary port.

Adapt is extremely portable at 1.24 x 0.63 x 1.75 inches and has nine hours of talk/listen time. Outdoor Tech claims that the device features noise suppression, echo elimination, and duplex sound to provide the clearest audio quality possible. Is this gadget something you'd be likely to use?

When we entered the exhibit of Stockholm-based Molami at CES, we didn't quite know what exactly we were looking at. A silk-satin chiffon audio headwrap? Soft napa leather-covered earbuds? Needless to say, we were intrigued by the audio accessories' fashion-meets-function form factor.

Here's a look at the beautifully eclectic wearable audio of Molami. We want to know: do you think these headphones and earbuds are fit for the fashion-forward?

Slussen: Urbanears' "Afterparty Weapon" For Mobile DJs

During this year's CES, Urbanears presented Slussen, a small stereo-to-headphones adapter that the audio company is dubbing an "app-cessory." The sound adapter takes a plug from a sound system and from headphones and plugs into an iPhone, on which mobile DJs can mix and preview tunes through the headphones on an app.

The prelistening feature is great for adding fade and equalization, while keeping the party (or afterparty) rocking. At a reasonably priced $15, Slussen might be a new must have for traveling DJs. The adapter has a minimal and clean design — and we'd expect no less from Urbanears, whose line of headphones is known for its brightly colored simplicity.

The free Slussen App will be available for download through the App Store, and the accessory is set for a Feb. 1, 2013, launch date.

Tobii has announced that its REX eye tracking device will be available for average Joes and Janes starting Fall 2013 — and "eye" can't wait. Tobii REX, which was one of our most-anticipated technologies at this year's CES, allows computer users to scroll, click, and navigate just by looking at the screen.

The technology is called "gaze interaction," and the experience is incredible, especially when navigating around maps or playing EyeAsteroids. REX is a small, lean bar that attaches to the bottom of a display and works seamlessly with the Windows 8 operating system. Both laptops and desktop screens are compatible with the device.

REX is formatted for Windows 8 computers only and will be open for preorder in Spring 2013. You'll be able to choose from two different sizes, depending on the size of your display. The developer edition is already being sold for $1,000, but the price for the consumer edition (surprise, surprise) has yet to be revealed.
