Hollywood Gets A Sneak Peek Of Halo 3

Hollywood Halo fans like Napoleon Dynamite's Jon Heder, Geoffrey Rush, Aisha Tyler, Dane Cook and Brody Jenner showed up at red carpet sneak peek event for Halo 3 for Xbox 360 this week and got a chance to test out the much-anticipated game. Just like the previous Halo games, Halo 3 is a first-person shooter game. Apparently in this edition Master Chief is back on a thoroughly conquered and Covenant controlled Earth.

The game won't be out until Sep 25, but it is rumored to be the last in the Halo series (the developers made an unofficial announcement) so there is all kinds of buzz about whether or not it will beat out the success of the previous editions. Right now "non-celebrity" beta testers are having a go with the multi-player component of the game. If you can't wait any longer you can pre-order it online.

Helio Ocean Rolls Into Market

The much anticipated Helio Ocean hit the market Friday and hardcore Helio fans like LilPeaPod couldn't be more excited.

The much anticipated Helio Ocean hit the market Friday and hardcore Helio fans like LilPeaPod couldn't be more excited. It's being marketed as the "world's first dual slider that has it all."

The "all" includes: full keyboard, separate numeric keypad, idle screen search, video, camera, e-mail, text messaging, AIM and audio with stereo bluetooth. Of course, it also supports Helio Music, GPS-enabled services and applications and photo caller ID.

While the device was released more than a month in advance of the iPhone, some people are saying it will give the Apple phone a run for its money. In fact the last time I checked more than 50 percent of people who voted on Gizmodo's Helio Ocean vs. Apple iPhone poll had chosen the Helio. What are your thoughts? Have you checked out the device yet?

Apple's iPhone Released June 11?

Everyone has been wondering when the highly-anticipated iPhone will actually hit the market since Steve Job's announced it would be available sometime in June.

Everyone has been wondering when the highly-anticipated iPhone will actually hit the market since Steve Job's announced it would be available sometime in June. Now it seems the wait is over following a Cingular employee's not so brilliant slip up. According to News.com, Cingular is confirming that the release date will be June 11. Here's more:

A customer service manager at Cingular (we called 800-947-5096 and were transferred to sales) gave us that date late Thursday, but, alas, said he didn't have any additional information beyond that. That date is no coincidence. It's the first day of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference, scheduled to be held in San Francisco from June 11 through June 15.

Whatever the date you can rest assured I'll be standing in line with my video camera and capturing whatever geekiness ensues.

"The Nanny Diaries" Release Gets Delayed

It's usually not a good sign when movie release dates get delayed.

It's usually not a good sign when movie release dates get delayed. But in the case of The Nanny Diaries, it sounds like the studio might be making the right decision. According to Variety, the Scarlett Johansson movie will be released on Sept. 7, instead of next month as planned. The movie will now premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and producer Harvey Weinstein says he hopes the new date will be better for its awards contention, since the home video release will now be timed to the Golden Globes.

Either that, or the movie — based on the popular novel of the same name — is totally doomed. I liked the directors' last movie, American Splendor, and I'm a big fan of Laura Linney, but judging from the trailer, The Nanny Diaries doesn't look particularly great. Hard to tell, though.
