Sony Vaio W Billabong Edition Hands-On

Previously, this ultra-cool beachwear-inspired laptop was only available in Australia.

Previously, this ultra-cool beachwear-inspired laptop was only available in Australia. But thankfully, Sony decided to bring the Sony Vaio W Billabong Edition notebook($500) Stateside to the pleasure of beach bums everywhere.

The Billabong edition Vaio was designed after the companies' latest board-short styles, and comes adorned in a fetching combination of lime green, blue, and black, that is somehow reminiscent of the shore. The laptop looks as good in person as it does in the pictures — its matte top feels like the design was painted on each individual cover, giving it an extra special touch, and the 10.1-inch LCD backlit screen makes things look good from the inside as well.

Want to hear more specs, see more pics, and hear my take on this summery notebook? Then just keep reading.

Black Crocodile Sony Vaio P Notebook: Love It or Leave It?

Although Sony just announced its newly updated Vaio P series a few days ago, they've already released another version, but only for Japanese fans.

Although Sony just announced its newly updated Vaio P series a few days ago, they've already released another version, but only for Japanese fans. The Black Crocodile Sony Vaio P comes with all the new bells and whistles the US version has — like the two touch controls on the screen bezel, PS3 streaming and compatibility, and an accelerometer — but adds a few extra hours on the battery to top out at 12.5 hours of play time. Additionally, this version is packaged with noise-canceling headphones for those musically inclined geeks who want to listen to their tunes in peace. Oh, and then there's the outer casing. So luxurious, no?

I'll admit — I'm a fan, and hope this version arrives stateside soon. But what about you — do you love it, or would you rather leave it?

Sony Unwraps New Colorful Vaio E Series Notebooks

I have a sudden urge for candy.

I have a sudden urge for candy. Why? Well perhaps it's because Sony announced its new Vaio E Series notebooks earlier today, which come in an array of mouth-watering colors. Stocked with Windows 7, a 2.40GHz processor, and a 500GB hard drive, this portable notebook weighs in at just under six pounds. Some of the other impressive features include a 15.5 inch (HD available) screen, edge-to-edge keyboard (so you can type freely without cramping your hands), Bluetooth, and an optional Blu-ray player and HDMI output so you can watch all your HD movies on the go or on your big screen at home.

The Vaio E isn't just all brains and no beauty though. It's a looker with its customizable color combos: pick your exterior hue and customize the keyboard skin color on the inside. But if you're looking for something a little more subtle, there's matte brown, silver and gunmetal versions as well. And with a price tag of only $800 to start, the Vaio E is an affordable computing option for the geek on a budget.

HP's Envy 15 Beats LE Comes Bundled With Dre's Headphones

I'm already in love with the sound quality of Dr. Dre's Beats headphones I tested out last year, so getting a free pair with an HP computer bundle would be pretty sweet.

I'm already in love with the sound quality of Dr. Dre's Beats headphones I tested out last year, so getting a free pair with an HP computer bundle would be pretty sweet. But not just any computer of course, one that also comes with a copy of Traktor LE DJing software so I can get my scratch on at the clubs. Who am I kidding, I'm no DJ — but I'll pretend to be one once DJ Hero hits the shelves this month!

HP has announced the HP Envy 15 Beats Limited Edition (which comes stocked with the same hardware as the original Envy 15, but with a pumped up graphics card), which is perfect for DJs and producers with all of its bundled beat-loving goodies. It's pretty sleek with a glossy black finish and red logo (which you'll also find on the matching headphones), but brace yourself for the price: the Envy 15 LE will start at $2,299. . . wowzas.

Though I am firmly rooted in the digital age, I am still obsessed with writing stuff down, everything from story ideas to grocery lists to random thoughts and reminders to myself. But writing is so much more rewarding when you have a cute little notebook to do it in. Here's a look at some of the most fabulous blank books I could find, from both mainstream and independent designers, so you can start taking notes in style.

Moleskine Large Plain Notebook, $14.95, available here. These classic, sturdy notebooks are said to have been a favorite of Hemingway and Matisse.

Tenth and Grant Periscope Notebook, $9.50, available here. This handcrafted book is made from recycled paper and soy-based inks.

Route 66 Journal, $13.75, available here. This adorable notebook, found by Anastasia, has a handy elastic strap so you can stow things inside.
