HP's Pavilion g6 Is Pretty Fly

Sometimes you gotta give it up for eye candy.
HP Pavilion g6 Notebook Details

Sometimes you gotta give it up for eye candy. Take for example, the HP Pavilion g6. Sure, it's packed with a 15.6-inch HD display, up to 6GB of RAM, 750GB of hard drive space, and Intel dual-core and Core i3 processors for maximum speed and storage, built-in WiFi Wireless-N for fast web browsing, but let's be real — what gets you at first are the colors.

Coming in five fantastic color options — charcoal grey, luminous rose, pewter, pacific blue, sweet purple — and starting at $429, it's easy enough to buy one for yourself or splurge on a loved one by giving it as a gift. Mother's Day is right around the corner, you know. Other features include a web cam, SD card reader, and speakers with SRS Surround Sound. The only downer? The six cell battery that gives you around four and a half hours of juice. That aside, the g6 is looking mighty fine as a great all-around machine for work or play. MacBook Air Hands On: First Impressions

Although the latest updates to the iLife suite were pretty impressive (I'm definitely using that new movie trailer feature), and the forthcoming Lion OS sounds exciting, Steve Jobs' "one more thing," the two new MacBook Airs, kind of stole the Back to the Mac show.

Although the latest updates to the iLife suite were pretty impressive (I'm definitely using that new movie trailer feature), and the forthcoming Lion OS sounds exciting, Steve Jobs' "one more thing," the two new MacBook Airs, kind of stole the Back to the Mac show. Who doesn't love new hardware!? And having voted for new MacBook Airs in our recent event poll, I left Cupertino satisfied.

Being there in person was worth the trip, as I got to play around with both the 13.3- and 11.6-inch models. Find out my thoughts on the new MacBook Airs after the break.

Kid Tech: Is Apple in Your Child's Classroom?

An apple no longer sits on a teacher's desk, it's what fills the computer labs.

An apple no longer sits on a teacher's desk, it's what fills the computer labs. As kids head back to school, most students prepare to hit the books and toy with technology. Whether the Macs or PCs in class are donated or purchased, it makes sense that big corporations would go after the littlest users because tots turn into lifetime customers. If a student is familiar with a certain setup, his or her family may end up purchasing a similar computer for their home. Does your child work on a Mac or PC?

The 12 Ages of Christmas: 12-Year-Olds

Instead of the 12 days of Christmas, we're celebrating the ages and the toys that go along with them.

Instead of the 12 days of Christmas, we're celebrating the ages and the toys that go along with them. Keep an eye out for your age group as we tick along throughout the season!

On the twelfth day of Christmas, yours truly gave to thee... a techie gift! Most 12-year-olds are better at managing their parents' gadgets than dear old mom and pop. They pick up typing as quick as handwriting and they are whizzes with cameras and video games. If Santa is looking for a generous gift, he should consider a small laptop, a simple digital camera, or one of Apple's smart devices — an iPod or iPhone. They may be on the pricier end of the spectrum, but it could be a smart present instead of lots of smaller packages.

Check out what we suggest for the other ages of Christmas!
