Just when I was jonesing for some Target, they unveil their latest handbag collaboration collection. We announced Hayden-Harnett for Target a while ago, and now we have pics of the goods. Hayden maintained its signature tough style, with detailing like grommets, chains, and brass hardware. Colors are everyday black and brown, with a festive print thrown in. You could obviously use any old bag to put your peripherals in to travel, but I like the idea of having a dedicated Nylon Media Carryall, like this one from Hayden Harnett‚ especially when said bag is over half off — just $22 — in Hayden Harnett's sample sale.
I like to be able to fit all my stuff in my laptop bag, but sometimes that's just not possible; and hey, the election's over and things could be looking better for the economy, so retail therapy anyone? I know I need some.
In addition to designing an exclusive line for Target, acccessory brand Hayden-Harnett will add a shoe and swimwear collection to their 2009 Spring collection.
“The designs are definitely '80s influenced, specifically 1980 and 1981. It’s very ‘Working Girl’ meets ‘Xanadu’ meets Memphis design. Women in New York City don’t have cars, we have shoes. I have decided to simply refuse to compromise style for comfort or vice versa” said Toni Hacker, cofounder and designer of Hayden-Harnett.
The six style swimwear line, ranging from $88 to $148, will include fun ruffled bottoms and keyhole maillots in their signature prints.
Botkier for Target just hit stores last week and hot on their heels will be Hayden-Harnett!

Hayden-Harnett: Giving Me a Heart Attack With the Catalina Laptop Bag
At the risk of sounding predictable: I need this. Hayden-Harnett is obviously slowly trying to drive me nuts, because first it was the Ibiza bag, and now this, the leather Catalina laptop bag.
It's not good enough when someone says TGIF. I want a Saturday morning sleep in, an egg in a raft, and a perfect day poolside. Catch my drift? To be a weekender is to be in (temporary) bliss. True, two days is never enough, but when you have some fun in the works, pack it up and pack it up cutely — per Tory Burch Resort (left), who certainly knows what weekends are made of. When was the last time you bought a bright duffel or bold beach bag? Too long, I'm sure . . .

It costs a painful $437, but look at it. Sumptuous leather, a crossbody strap (which makes it look chic, not messenger bag-ish), and a slouchy style that announces to the world, "World! I have fabulous laptop bags!"
Hayden Harnett is launching a line of shoes this Spring 09, as reported through their blog. The Brooklyn-based handbag (and now clothing) designers, known by fans as just 'Toni and Ben' (sigh, Greenpoint) have made quite a business for themselves. That is, the line is stocked at Nordstorm and Anthroplogie and their customers fit rightly between those two worlds. The Spring 09 shoe line will consist of nine styles and range from simple flats to over-the-knee boots. Is this a reverse Loeffler Randall? Seem so. We're guessing that if you're a contemporary brand working with leather (a very difficult material to keep cost-effective) you're much more able to spout out a shoe line in one day than a contemporary clothing brand. cosmic flash told herself she wasn't going to participate in this trend but pictures tell otherwise. She broke down and went oy for ombre! The bow in front adds a different twist to her dress and I love the yellow bag.
