ICYMI, Tron: Legacy is hitting theaters soon, and while I'll be attending the midnight 3D IMAX screening with friends in some comfy layers, I'm betting that there will be some mega fans out there that come in all dolled up as Quorra, Flynn, Sam, or Clu. And if DIY'ing your own costume is too much for you to bear, you can always throw down your dollars for some Tron-inspired accessories to sport at your own premiere. Check out a few here!
I'm already a big fan of Hayden-Harnett's bags, but toss in a Tron: Legacy theme, and my fandom turns into obsession. Inspired by the digital world of Tron, Hayden-Harnett created a collection fit for a futuristic fashionista — two handbags, two clutches, and three leather cuffs ranging in price from $90 to $400, all set to drop in November, just in time for the Tron: Legacy premiere.
I'm a huge fan of the carryall and hobo bag, which not only would fit my day-to-day essentials, chargers, and earbuds, but would also totally tote my netbook as well.
Can't get enough Hayden-Harnett? Me neither. Just when I'm on the hunt for a new laptop bag for Spring (I'm about to retire my Ibiza after a year of daily use) I come across the casually-fresh Langly Tote ($300). The canvas chevron design makes me want to head to the beach with my 15" laptop in tow, and the brown leather accents create a nice neutral contrast so you can wear it with whatever. The Langly can carry it all with its roomy insides, and if you want some added protection for your machine, just slap on a padded sleeve and you're good to go.
Love it or hate it, high waisted swimwear is in fashion this season. Feminine contemporary designers like Rachel Pally and Hayden-Harnett showed stand-out examples this season while the Urban Outfitters-owned line, Silence & Noise, never fails to pick up on a trend. It's peripheral examples such as these which will bring this look to life, however, don't expect to find a shortage of regular swimwear anytime soon. We doubt the day will ever come when a teeny bikini is difficult to find.

You've heard my gushing about Hayden Harnett's Ibiza, but I was stalling on buying it, even though I've seen it in person and know it's a quality bag; I just hadn't gotten around to justifying the $200 price tag yet.
So when Hayden Harnett revealed its capsule collection for Target, I ran down there, not even expecting to find a laptop bag, just some great accessories. Lo and behold, what did I see? The $50 Flight Tote — an almost exact replica of HH's Ibiza from their regular line (in the image, Target's is on the left).
The differences are obvious for offsetting cost: Target's version is made of light canvas with faux-leather trim; the original is made of a very sturdy nylon and real leather trim. I bought the Flight Tote and have been lugging it to and from work for the past couple of weeks.

The Business of Fashion reports on Barbie's influence on independent designers this Fall 09. Never thought we'd say that but then again, they probably didn't either.
The Thakoon for Target collection has sold out for the most part (who knows if a replenishment is on its way) but the next Go International project is fully underway. Despite rumors that the Hayden Harnett For Target handbag range hasn't arrived in many Target locations, it is available online as of today. We've never been huge fans of the handbag and shoe collaborations simply because (cough) quality control is an issue, but we're also fans of Hayden Harnett and think this collection looks rather cute. See for yourself!
