There's no denying the inherent appeal of LEGOS. They're fun, require a little brain activity and remind us all of our childhoods.
One of Lindsb's good friends recently got the chance to check out the much-talked about "The Art of the Brick" exhibit by Nathan Sawaya at the Lancaster Museum of Art. While Lindsb was upset she didn't get to go, her friend was able to share some great pictures with her. "Look how freakin' awesome some of this stuff is," she says. "Genius!"
Nathan Sawaya is a professional LEGO artist and former LEGO Master Model Builder, who has been playing with LEGOS since he was five. "His work is obsessively and painstakingly crafted and is both beautiful and playful," says the museum. "Sawaya’s ability to transform LEGO bricks into something new, his devotion to scale and color perfection, the way he conceptualizes the action of the subject matter, enables him to elevate an ordinary toy to the status of art.
The Art of the Brick is scheduled to be at the museum, which is located in the city of Lancaster in Pennsylvania, until May 20. For additional photos from th exhibit, read more
