White Castle Springs Forward With Free Slyders

I can't believe it's just about time to set the clocks forward.

I can't believe it's just about time to set the clocks forward. I know it means more light during the day, which means going home when it's still light outside, but still, I'm going to miss that extra hour of sleep.

To help cope with daylight savings time, White Castle has announced "Daylights Cravings Time." Between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m on Sunday Mar. 9, just prior to the time change, White Castle will be giving two free slyders to anyone who visits. Jamie Richards, White Castle's director of marketing, said:

On March 9, we refuse to lose an hour so we're offering two free burgers to cravers who come in for this late-night celebration. When it comes to being proactive, Cravers are ahead of the pack — so what better way to acknowledge this than with some free tasty burgage on us.

Tasty burgage indeed.

Now tell me, will you stay up late just to enjoy a free snack?

Happy Hour: Daylight Savings

As you may know (and if you're in America and don't know this, then quick change your clocks!), we sprung the clocks forward for daylight savings this past Saturday night/Sunday morning.

As you may know (and if you're in America and don't know this, then quick change your clocks!), we sprung the clocks forward for daylight savings this past Saturday night/Sunday morning. Now, all last week I searched the internet for a drink that would convey that feeling, but I found nothing called "Daylight Savings" (or Spring Forward for that matter) and really thought it was a true shame. So this weekend, when I was at the Velvet Cantina, I convinced Peter (the fantastic bartender who's last name I never got) to invent one for me. Actually, he invented two.

The first version took inspiration from a Tequila Sunrise, and was beautiful to behold, but it was just too sweet (although Peter insisted it would be better with proper, fresh pineapple juice). The second version was much nicer and a bit more tart, in fact a few other people ended up ordering it as well.

How To

Time Change Tonight - Should You Worry?

Congress passed the law after deciding that an early evening daylight would translate into energy savings, so this is my geeky reminder that DST begins Sunday at 2 a.m.

Congress passed the law after deciding that an early evening daylight would translate into energy savings, so this is my geeky reminder that DST begins Sunday at 2 a.m.

In order to be on time come Sunday, everyone must remember to set their clocks forward one hour.

The new change means some computer clocks set to change at the traditional daylight savings time will all be an hour off until you check for updates or update them yourself.

According to the AP, the problem won't show up only in computers. It will affect plenty of non-networked devices that store the time and automatically adjust for daylight saving, like clocks and BlackBerrys. Need help read more

Why Is Everyone Freaked Out About Daylight Savings?

Everyone has been generating a giant ballyhoo about a 2005 law that decreed daylight-saving time would start three weeks earlier and end one week later, beginning this year.

Everyone has been generating a giant ballyhoo about a 2005 law that decreed daylight-saving time would start three weeks earlier and end one week later, beginning this year. Congress passed the law after deciding that an early evening daylight would translate into energy savings, but geeks everywhere are worried that software created earlier is set to automatically advance its timekeeping by one hour on the first Sunday in April, not the second Sunday in March. Is this the new Y2K? Not likely. As we all know, nothing happened with the dreaded Y2K bug, but that doesn't mean nothing will happen this time either. It seems computer clocks set to change at the traditional daylight savings time will all be an hour off.
