Happy Bird-Day! An Awesome Angry Birds Party

What to do when not one, but two of your kids have birthdays during the most wonderful, chaotic time of year?

What to do when not one, but two of your kids have birthdays during the most wonderful, chaotic time of year? Find a theme that they both love (in this case, Angry Birds), and run with it!

"December is a busy enough month as is, but add birthdays for two children to the mix, and you've got downright chaos," says Jennifer Carver of Banner Events. "To simplify things this year, we decided to host a combined birthday party for my son Jacob (turning 11) and my son Landon (turning 5). Since they are both huge gamers, we knew this theme would be perfect!" And Jennifer thought of every single detail — from an amazing Angry Birds cake, cupcakes, cake pops, and more sweet bird-themed treats to some supercreative themed games like Capture the Egg, Bird-O Bingo, and Slingshot Lane, all designed to delight the 20 party guests. Lil Gift Guide: Great Gifts For 5-Year-Olds!

How best to describe kindergartners?

How best to describe kindergartners? Tots with a lot of personality! No longer "lil ones," these 5-year-olds are at an age where they know what they want and they aren't afraid to tell you. Toys and activities that build on the skills they are learning at school will keep their hands busy and their minds moving.

FIJIT Friends ($40) may be one of the biggest sellers this holiday season with their ability to respond to different commands and dance moves that keep kids wanting to join in the party. If your child has control of your iPad, Angry Birds Card Game ($12) may be the ticket to giving them a break from the screen. Lego's line of city kits just keeps growing, and the City Forest Police ($80) is packed with enough things to build to keep fans busy for a long time. Bead Bazaar's My Butterfly Bead Kit ($23) is filled with more than 200 environmentally friendly, hand-crafted beads to make more than a dozen accessories. If your kid's going to be moving, why not make it an artistic experience? The Razor Graffiti Chalk Scooter ($74) features sidewalk chalk near its rear wheel so kids can look back on their path after they've reached their destination.

Transform Your Next Birthday Cake Into a Game of Angry Birds

Angry Birds and cake.

Angry Birds and cake. Everyone loves one of those things, and even if you're not a cake decorator extraordinaire, you can still replicate the addictive mobile game for your next birthday (or any event that includes cake, really) with the Angry Birds 27 Cake Topper Set ($25). For a fraction of the cost and time you'd put in to making these little birds, pigs, boulders, and building blocks out of fondant, you can set up an entire scene from the game right on your cake and have time to mix a cocktail before the guests arrive. What, you thought these were just for kids?

This nail art tutorial is pretty easy to follow, and all you need are some skinny nail polish (or watercolor) brushes, polish, a bobby pin/toothpick, and patience. The girl in the video, Evelina Barry, shows you how to do all the birds, but you can always make it easy on yourself and just do one of them on your thumb or a finger. If you want to get really creative, you can even paint your other hands with those dastardly pigs. See how you can get a sinister oinker polish look after the jump.
