Vertu's Constellation Shines Bright at Oscar Dinner

Wolfgang Puck and Vertu hosted a pre-Oscar dinner for the Dream For Africa Foundation earlier this week, and while the food was likely the main attraction, Vertu's new touchscreen Constellation smartphone made an appearance on tabletops as well.

Coming with a 3.5-inch Sapphire Crystal touchscreen, an 8MP camera with dual LED flash, a tilt switch (to view your screen in horizontal or landscape mode), and other high-class accoutrements, like a ceramic "pillow" for your ear, ringtones composed by the London Symphony Orchestra, and exteriors in materials like leather, alligator skin, stainless steel, gold, and diamonds, it's a work of art in and of itself. Let's not forget that users get 24-hour concierge service with every Constellation to buy gifts, book tickets, and find the best restaurants (and finagle a reservation). There's no doubt you'd need an Oscar-worthy salary to rock one of these babies. Get a closer look at the T in the gallery!

Vertu's Year of the Dragon Phone Will Set You Back $20,000

In Chinese astrology, the dragon signifies luck.

In Chinese astrology, the dragon signifies luck. And you'd be lucky to have enough cash to acquire the Year of the Dragon smartphone. In honor of the upcoming Lunar New Year, Vurtu has crafted a luxurious mobile phone with a price tag that will have you breathing fire: $20,815.

Coming in three different models with stainless steel, yellow gold, rubies, diamonds, emeralds, and a hand-crafted dragon adorned on the battery cover, the (rumored) Symbian-running device will be produced in very short supply in Asia only, but will come with a perk not usually associated with mobile phones — one free year of concierge service.

Though, the Dragon phone has nothing on the world's most expensive cell phone, which was priced at 1.2 million dollars.

Luxurious Geek: $25,000 Ferrari Phone By Vertu

Vertu has long been one of the top names in luxury cell phones, but their most recent design may win the race against the competitors.

Vertu has long been one of the top names in luxury cell phones, but their most recent design may win the race against the competitors. The Vertu Ferrari phone, which is being sold by Nokia stores in London, Paris and Hong Kong, was designed in collaboration with Ferrari and costs a whopping $25,400. The release of the phone, which features a shift gate on its posterior, coincides with Ferrari's 60th anniversary.

While the appeal of a cell phone that costs more than my computer is a bit of a mystery to me, I can admit it's easy to be impressed by the company's special edition phones. The Ferrari phone certainly makes the MOTORAZR Ferrari phone look like a cheap knock off.
