Five new Empire Strikes Back-themed USB drives are the latest Mimobots released as part of the Mimobot Series 6 lineup. The five new characters — Yoda, Hoth Luke, Wampa, Snowtrooper, and Lobot — are available in traditional Mimobot sizes of 2GB, 4BG, 8GB, and 16GB and range in price from $30-$90 each.

These latest releases join a host of other Star Wars-themed flash drives, but I must admit I'm partial to Yoda. It's the ears!

If wooden USB drives tickle your fancy, ZaNa has just come out with these handcrafted SO2 USB drives made from either merbau wood, silver 925 or natural amber. When you plug the SO2 into your USB port, a flashing amber light is used as the access indicator. According to GetUSB, ZaNa includes "Ultra Stable Technology" in their drives to insure data doesn't get lost with an accidental power down or disconnect. Priced at $64 for the 1GB and $83 for the 2GB. Spill the beans. . . geek or chic?

Universal Music to Offer Tunes on USB Drives

First there were cassettes, then CDs and soon you'll be able to purchase music-filled USB drives.

First there were cassettes, then CDs and soon you'll be able to purchase music-filled USB drives. Universal Music will soon be offering music singles on USB drives to help increase music sales, although I can't see any sales increasing with a $10 price tag for only one single! Considering the fact that we can now buy and download songs wirelessly for about a dollar, why would we want to carry around a bunch of USB drives that don't even play more than one song? People like the convenience of digital music that can easily be transferred to their media devices and music that doesn't cost a small fortune. What do you think? via Coolest Gadgets
