USB Bag Charm Keeps Important Docs Close at Hand

There's a few reasons I love this Studded USB Bag Charm ($45): One, you can stuff 2GB worth of documents, music, and photo files for easy transportation. Two, you wouldn't know it was a flash drive even if you studied it, which makes it great for toting sensitive documents on the go.

Sensitive documents you say? Here's an example: clip this on your leather messenger bag or keychain when you're traveling abroad, and keep a copy of your passport, itinerary, hotel information, credit cards, and emergency contacts on you at all times — just in case you lose your luggage (or worse, it gets stolen). The clip blends in well enough not to stand out, and you won't forget it in your hotel room if it's attached to your day bag. And let's face it — this is probably one of the most stylish, portable flash drives you've ever seen, so you should grab it either way.

Memoring: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

What's more romantic than a promise to love and cherish forever?

What's more romantic than a promise to love and cherish forever? How about a promise to never forget, or at least to never misplace those important files? With Memoring, you can do both. The simple neon plastic rings, which are actually USB flash drives, come in their own ring box and are available in festive colors like pink, yellow, or my favorite: glitter.

At about $36 for 2GB, these little plastic USB keys don't run cheap, even if they double as a fun accessory (or geeky engagement gag!). But I love the colors in all the photos on the site, and especially love the cute designs on the presentation boxes that they come packaged in. What do you think?

Worth Adding to Your Summer Travel Bag: the USB Cube

The Summer travel season may be winding down, but there are still a few weeks left to get away.

The Summer travel season may be winding down, but there are still a few weeks left to get away. I've already profiled some of my favorite Summer travel gadgets but just came across one more accessory worth tossing in your weekend bag. The USB Power Cube ($30) is a colorful accessory allowing you to quickly charge any USB-powered device. Since I'm guilty of consistently forgetting my iPhone's charger, I'd love to have an extra accessory like this one to toss in my bag.

The charger works across a variety of devices but doesn't include a cord, so you'll have to pack the USB cord before you travel, too.

AromaUSB: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

We've seen some wacky USB drives before, but this one somehow found a tiny niche that hasn't already been covered by humping bunnies and heated lunchboxes.

The AromaUSB ($26) does just what it sounds like — plugs into your computer's USB port and releases a hint of fragrance (you can adjust more or less, depending on your nose . . . or how smelly your cubicle is) that lasts for up to a week. Perfect for close quarters, or if you've been to the gym at lunch and didn't have time to shower.

Geek Gear For Your Dog

I get lots of emails and messages asking for help on picking out a new computer, sound system, and cell phone, but not too often do I get asked for help to prepare for a new addition – a new dog! Community member nxtannawintour sent me the following message:

I'm in the process of buying a dachshund, which I've named Link - after Legends of Zelda, of course. Now I'm looking for gamer-esque accessories for the dog, like a collar, leash, and carrier. Do you know of any websites that sell anything of that sort? I come to the blog for all things geek for chicks and I felt that this would be the most qualified place to ask!

How could I resist!? I'm not all that familiar with doggie goods, so I've asked my pal PetSugar to get in on the action — she's got you covered on geeky pet accessories, while I'm offering up geeky gear which you can use to help you train, keep track of, and celebrate your pooch every day. Check out my selections here, but then head over to see what kinds of goodies PetSugar has found for your furry friends!
